Poor kid… I don't know how I would react neither… Pointing a firearm at someone holding a garbage clamp is pretty insane and it could result in serious bodily harm of the person unarmed. This is an awful interaction and the officer that was pointing that gun was placing everyone at harm, including the people inside the building, for no reason…

Officer Smiley is a racist, he profiled the Student based on his appearance and location. Not one individual notified the police of anyone trespassing or causing a disturbance. I hope Smiley was received of duty and then fired. His commands are not lawful, he is abusing his powers under the color of law (1983). I am glad that the student won his case in court.
It’s actions like Smiley’s that get officers killed in the line of duty. Abuse of power is NOT ACCEPTABLE.
Yet again another citizen held hostage by the police for doing the job he was paid to do! But the police officers are you still afraid no one on the forest will approach him just ask questions! And talk to him normally, they all want to escalate every situation they come across!

The conclusion is absurd. The officer at the end get an A, the other officers get a fail for not protecting the resident against an over zealous cop. Some people should never get badges and guns.

Credit to the other cops, immediately upon arrival they began de-escalation techniques while also finding out that he was a resident of that dorm.
