I agree that the second amendment is fundamentally necessary for the safety of America. The 2nd amendment is to protect ourselves against the govt that Trump would happily institute. I'm glad CRL mentioned Orwell's 'Animal Farm', (1984, Fahrenheit 451 are also great reads). Allowing Constitution and Bill of Rights abuse by The Political Party (United States has 1 Party, 2 Tribes) eventually meets at the end-circle of Communism (left) and Fascism (right) – doesn't matter how we got there, you will still have no rights. As CDL mentioned, Government is here to keep the states loosely together, and protected, not be doing much else.
