Corporal Craig Putnam of the Amarillo Police Department patrols an area known for prostitution activity and spots a female walking up to a car. When the corporal stops the female and the car, the woman takes off running on foot. The corporal uses his taser but is ineffective. When he apprehends the individual he realizes the person is a cross-dresser. The upset individual explains they ran because they didn’t want to go to jail. The individual explains that he isn’t prostituting, but then recants and admits accepting cash from the male driver. Cpl. Putnam detains the individual and finds drug paraphernalia inside a purse. The individual will be charged with evading and possession of drug paraphernalia.
