I may be wrong, but I feel like officer one should not have allowed the suspect to leave the car. At that point the suspect was telling the cop what the suspect was going to do. Shouldn't it be the other way around.
The driver was attempting to obscure something with his leg positioning. The "small talk" by passenger was also a clue. 🙂 Good eyes, officer on passenger side!!
Smartest thing the Police did was add a partner to many patrol cars. Its really a 2 man job. Just think if that 2nd officer didn't get a flash light on that interior to see the gun. Norvell would have that drivers side officer in trouble with that girl friend distracting him with her " I gotta PEE ". Who knows how it would have gone if that 2nd cop wasn't there ?
