I kinda believe her. It seems like the girl has issues. Why would this woman kill her fiancé's daughter the day after getting engaged to the dad? That makes no sense.
She's 100% guilty of not ensuring the children's safety. For that alone, 20 years is deserved.
Emily was responsible. She is where she should be. She is a liar. That toddler would have been screaming its head off. Poor baby.
That’s so messed up. A juror basically said they didn’t prove it beyond reasonable doubt so found her guilty but chose less time because they are unsure. What they are basically saying is any kid that does should result in a parent being charged with murder.
That really angers me that someone would kill Katie. Was it an ex boyfriend, attempted robbery or just a random killing? My guess is just a random incel or freak. Only way this gets solved is if the killer comes forward or someone he/she told about it does. So sad and she seems like she was such a nice person. I really hope her family can get some answers and justice.
Y'all are so gulible in these comments, oml😅
Those stairs look pretty hard if she was running hard enough it could happen. I don't think this was murder. I do think it was negligence.
For the second story that woman should have been acquitted. That’s reasonable double all day. I get the case is meet with outrage from the public and they just want Justice from anyone even it’s not the right person but there is not enough evidence to send that woman to jail for 20 years. That older kid is a Demon. Cops seemed to have tunnel vision and not willing to take no for an answer at the interrogation. The kid has more of a motive than her and history of violence.
Emily did it, it's all over her. If you didn't murder a child- think you'd be a bit more convincing. An eight year old can attack and even murder a toddler.. but the skull damage says it all. That isn't going to happen from a fall down stairs, even if pushed- and not by an 8 year old. That took adult strength.
And if the eight year old did it- she would have heard all the commotion. There's no way a kid is committing murder in the same house you're in without you hearing any sign of it.
I believe she is innocent all the way is was the 8 yr old I bet my life
I can see your guilty first in the states In Canada you’re innocent till proven guilty . What about the 10 year old that killed a child in the states. This is misconduct on the part about the mom. God darn it I hope someone is reading the comments. 🇨🇦
There’s no doubt that a child can’t do that. Children have beat a child that young. I believe this woman is falsely charged
I don't know who killed this young child, but I have seen that when a couple is in the process of divorce that children are pulled this way and that to win over the other parent, and depending on what is said about the new person that is now involved with the parent,a young child will take in what is said.I have seen that females are the worst at badmouthing another female (I am female) female children are usually close to their mother. So when a father gets a new love little girl's feel that they have to be loyal to her mother, and don't want to have her replaced by a stepmother.Little girls are more likely than boys to want to accept a replacement. As any female knows that it is harder to win over another female.I do believe that a little girl is very capable of doing what is done in this case. They want to believe that her mother WILL get back with her father.Girls are more spiteful than boys.😢 Noreen Australia 🦘
There's enough room here for doubt. So she should not have been convicted.
*Wth? they even admitted they had doubt and played the fence. Giving her 20 yrs instead of 40. Don't find her guilty "just in case" without any evidence. This is a joke.
being a mother , i would not leave a 2year old alone with a 8 yr old, especially if 8 yr old has anger issues . easier to blame and charge the adult, however if she is innocent wtaf is going to happen to 8 yr old in future. i though that the reasonable doubt was a reason to find person not guilty. this poor woman needs help getting out of jail and the kid needs to be looked at.
Sociopath psycho path they are on the rise.
An 8 yr old jumping on the cute little sister to get rid of her new future wife & also anger that she can take out on someone who can't fight back or maybe say in words what happen because of fear or lack words.
I was tussling with my 9 year old niece when i was 23 years old and I had a very hard time trying to reign her in because of her strength. I believe that the lil baby's 8 year old sister did this to her lil sister.
THE 8 YEAR OLD HAS ISSUES AND DIDN'T LIKE THAT THE ' BABY' WAS GETTING ALL THE ATTENTION…THE '' DAMAGE' TO THE BABY WAS TOO EXTENSIVE TO HAPPEN ' ALL IN 30 MIN. '' TIME… ANY RERAL DOCTOR WOULD SEE AND KNOW THIS ' FACT''. COME ON…MAN….
WE REALLY FEEL THE ' MOM'' HAS ALOT MORE INFORMATION ABOUT WHAT REALLY HAPPENED TO LITTLE ' ANNA''… WE DON'T THINK THE BABYSITTER DID THIS AT ALL…NEVER DID IT..
POOR KATIE GOT HIT IN A ' HOODRATTY DRIVE-B Y'' PUNK KIDS….WHAT A SHAME.
Did the “step mom” ever take a lie detector test?
Emily je kriva, mislim da je ona ubica, kako samo hladnokrvno prica kad je nazvala 911! Kasnije mijenja pricu nakon obdukcije!
Njezina prica nema smisla!
Charlotte is a big city, it's not a "college town"
I'm not buying that you can read all those body signs and say she isn't telling the truth. That's not evidence, and it's irrelevant. I have watched many cases where 8 and 10 years old kill children
how are people this dumb the kid has injuries from head to toe these stairs or the 8 year old must have been mike tyson or something.
If no one knows 100% for sure who killed the toddler then how can you convict someone? They don’t know but sounds like it could have been the 8 year old to get back at the world for not getting what she wants. It’s the start of probably more to come as she gets older knowing she can get away with things
Don't leave a bar to walk one mile home alone at night. Just the thought of doing that is scary to me. No place in this world is that safe!😮
it's not unreasonable to think a child with admitted violence issues could have done something like this. the fact that anyone on the jury had doubt means they SHOULDNT have convicted. that's the whole point. if there's reasonable doubt, you have to acquit them. will it let some guilty people go? yes, of course. but it's how you avoid innocent people being put away for crimes they didn't commit, which is entirely possible in this case. even if she did do it, that's a miscarriage of justice and it disgusts me. it's wild to me that a juror can go on national tv and say there was doubt, and that doesn't have any consequences whatsoever?? that juror clearly failed to do their job in that role, there should be SOMETHING that comes from them admitting it.
There was just a case recently with the cousin killed the other caught on camera over a phone
The second case is hard to say really we were not present in that home but to say you never heard or notices aggressive child with the other children , also usually napping children are being watched by some baby monitor especially if I step outside for any reason !! I don’t buy this lady’s story I’m sorry 😢 I feel like if the 8 year old was really going to hurt anyone in the home wouldn’t she have chosen that lady’s son ? I’m sorry to speculate like that but why would she hurt her sister if she’s mad at her dad and this new lady ? I also am shocked she doesn’t feel any culpability for the child’s death your the adult in that home responsible for their protection and well being . Also there are no tears coming from her eyes as she pretends to cry . Rest in peace angel, my baby and you are the same age I would have loved for you two to be friends I pray your happy in heaven and play with all my furry friends in heaven with you 😢❤
I’ve seen a documentary where a 10 year old killed his 2 year old brother because of built of anger and aggression. I don’t know why this jury believes things like this don’t happen. I’m not saying she’s innocent or guilty but maybe they should’ve reconsidered the evidence and/or investigators.
I don't think she did it. Is there an update regarding her case?
Drunk asf and born and raised here in Charlotte Nc & suddenly came across this ! Glad I made it home safe prayers to the victim
Omg they have this innocent lady in prison it’s fuckn common sense the 8 yr old did that shit there’s no damn way Emily did that shit
That 911 call was like a regular phone call 4 her no emotion given
When the step mom was like “Ana’s older sister was big enough to push me into the wall” come on…an 8 year old pushing a grown woman plz
I believe the GF
It’s very possible that the 8 y/o did it- children aren’t completely sure on how to cope in the emotional/mental illness type things. 8 y/o might have had that rage because of her mom leaving the relationship with her dad, so now she has a ‘new mom’ and such she’s mad. And the baby was the last thing her mom gave her.. so in a rage from the step mom just being there and being a mom she’s lost, she can’t comprehend that so she gets upset and enraged and attacks her younger sister.
This is sad. I was extremely jealous of my baby sister when I was 6,7,8 & she was 4 yrs younger. I threw things at her in her playpen. I would not share any toys. My mom took me to a physc. Doc. Of course ADHD put me on ritalen & did a bunch of brain tests. I was in 3 Rd grade. I was Scared to death I had brain issues. Luckily I never hurt her to where she had to go to hospital But unfortunately this happens when your the center of everyone attentions then she came along & I guess I didn't like it. I definitely think my Drs. Helped they were someone I could go to and they understood me. I am so GREATFUL they helped me or who knows. Of course this lady feels responsible it happened on her watch..
