Very interesting and informative. Greetings from Yorkshire. We have a duty of care here in the UK and risk assessment in all areas of life.
I think it sets a strong president. I am reading into this, that by prosecuting the parents, they are telling people that if you are given all the signs, ignoring them is not a viable option. I think if they had tried to get this young man some help, they wouldn't have been charged like this. The idea that not only the minor but the school brought forth concerns, and yet the child wasn't given help but was instead given access to a firearm shows at the very least gross negligence.
Sounds like this country is just trying to collect money any way it can.

It was necessary in her case. She was loud and purposeful either her neglect.

Ask the parents of the murdered children what they think
The fact that she hit these 2 boys and continued to drive until her car automatically turned off because the airbags deployed and/or the engine coolant emptied during the hit and run says everything about her intention. If the car had not turned off, she would have continued on to hide the car. Lock her up and throw away the key.
Hindsight? The boy asked his mother for help and she laughed at him.
She may be guilty of being a bad parent but she didn't pull the trigger. The son did. He is the only one responsible for the tragedy and no one else should be blamed to minimize what he did
So many parents make excuses for their children’s bad behaviour and turn a blind eye to mental issues. They at least have an obligation to seek help!

We have had a lot of school shootings what's happened to cross the US for many years now to the point that it's no longer a surprise. We do not expect every parent of a child that has caused a mass shooting to be charged for wrongdoing most of them did their job they tried to get their child help or they restricted their child's access to dangerous things and they still found a way. The difference is this mother knowing how mentally ill her son was still provided him with a gun knowing the things he'd been saying and doing. The texts and actions say it all. She cared so little and it cost her family and dozens of other families.
When will the prosecuting psrents end? More kids are killed in Chicago, who is going to jail? The government? For no equal education, resources, mental health, or intervention programs or help to parents ?
Do you think a parent that gets murdered by their child trying to get them help deserves it?
Schools, mental health professionals, counselors, government, community fail our kids. Perhaps we should focus on the education of kids rather than medicating them and writing reports.
Folks, teachers used to help kids, they were seperated so children could get the best trained teachers for their needs.
With mental health care. You have 30 days of care before your insurance cuts you off. When these parents know that something's wrong with their kid and they even try to advocate for them. They're shot down at every turn they've called everybody. They've been on hold for hours. I've been there, but not with mental issues, but with just advocating for my children. And they know their son's sick or daughter. And they don't get the help they need. I don't think they should be blamed for that the systems are broken.
The crumbled atty is insufferable. She's unprepared, petulant and marches about like a sullen teenager. It's wrong, but I'm about to hope crumbley guilty purely on my irritation for her lawyer. She's grating on my nerves, poor jury.
They knew their child had mental issues, so they buy him a gun? And how many kids hear voices? If you don't hold parents responsible. then who? Not in every case, no, but definitely in this one. I definitely think these parents were negligent. If it had been your child who died, would you tnen think the parents were responsible?

I was curious if you guys have been looking at the Erica Lawson case in KY, and how they wanted the death penalty dropped but it is still on the table for such a heinous crime she committed. I haven’t seen very much coverage about this case that happened over the summer and would like to hear your guys’ take on what has happened.
