Officer James Hamlin – Muskogee Police Department
Officer James Hamlin joins a pursuit in progress. The fleeing Hyundai passes him going in the opposite direction. Officer Hamlin parallels the pursuit in an attempt to get in front of it and set up a roadblock. The fleeing driver, who is now riding on a front rim and throwing sparks, makes a few turns and is now coming right at Officer Hamlin. The Hyundai passes Officer Hamlin, narrowly missing his patrol car. The pursuit continues for a few more blocks until the car is on fire and can’t go any further. The driver exits the vehicle and lays down directly in front of the burning vehicle. The driver is pulled to safety and it is then discovered that there is a female in the back seat of the burning Hyundai. She is pulled out as the smoke engulfs the entire car. The driver is not cooperative and has very little to say. The female has inhaled a lot of smoke and is also very uncooperative. Both are transported to the hospital.

The taxpayers pick up the bill for scumbags like this that are injured committing crime on top of it. You'll notice the guy just saved himself and left the girl to die.

Leaving them an out is a stupid strategy. If they're already running, what's the motivation for them to not take the out? There is none. If you're going to give pursuit, the goal should be to end it as quickly, and safely as possible. Pursuits are dangerous for everyone involved, and all the innocent people on the roads that are not involved. So stop playing grab-ass and end it quick if you're going to do it.
