  1. Relieved to see some common sense in the comments regarding the hockey manslaughter. The Reddit forum I saw initially was so full of those blindly defending the dirty player talking about how bad they felt for HIM, and the look on his face afterwards, talking about the collision with the other player causing his leg to swing out like that etc. Worst opinions on everything that comes down to “right vs wrong” on that website, I swear! That dirty ass player was obviously trying to kick the victim with his leg. I doubt he was trying to slash his throat, but the high kick looked beyond intentional to me. I think the dirty player miscalculated how high he was going with it though (hopefully, at least). But given his record, it’s sick that he was still allowed to play after this incident.

  2. If you have a guest for the the sake of ### let them speak. I you are the Guest say what you want to say and then pass the ball back. If either person talks too long or starts rambling it becomes boring.

  3. One report said it was an illegal maneuver and he had been called out on this exact maneuver before, multiple times. He miscalculated the maneuver and needs to be held accountable. A man died because this player has total disregard for the hockey rules.

  4. Jonna Spilbor made some really good points and showed how perspective is key in any judgement. She is intelligent and impartial in her comments, which highlighted facts that most people won't think about .

  5. Legs fly, sticks fly, pucks get shot at faces. This dude didn't kill the other dude on purpose. How can the dude precisely throw up his skate to the other dudes neck? Did he practice it?? Fuck No. Wear your neck guard just like you are already seeing.

  6. No, hockey is not homicide on ice waiting to happen every game. This was a leg raised at another player. Why? To me that shows intent to harm. The player was irresponsible with his actions. I think there should be consequences to what he did, taking someone's life.

  7. I’m with millions of other viewers that this is in no possible way an accident , it was intentional 100% , and that dirty SOB should be charged with MURDER NOT MANSLAUghter , I’ve watched 1000’s of hockey games ( being Canadian ) and I’ve never seen that kind of move EVER and I’m in my late 60’s MURDER MURDER MURDER .

  8. The Adelsons clan was highly educated successful people in Miami and they hated their highly successful son in law/ex husband more than their freedom. Couldn’t be me. They could fly up every weekend to visit the grandsons, they had the buck to do that. Or fly the grandsons down to visit. Then they kept the grandsons from the deceased’s family in Canada. Despicable. Rip Dan Markel.

  9. Anyone who knows hockey, no skater lifts his leg with a kick at any player. He purposely tried to hurt that player, he’s known as a dirty player. If you two think that was an innocent act, you’re stupid or evil. Look at that karate kick, hockey players don’t use that type of technique.

  10. I am glad they charged Petgrave. Growing up playing hockey you do not raise a blade at another player. He cut his throat not his shin. I knew the UK would go through with it. In USA i am not sure. A dirty move one too many times.

  11. This is such a wild case. Everything she did after the murder … she went to Conn. Got her sisters passport sold her jeep went to Costa Rica changed her name and had plastic surgery to look complrtely different. Then while in custody tried to escape.

  12. I witnessed this awful accident matt was going in to make contact with the other player in between himself and Adam which resulted in contact with matts ankle sending him forward head first which made his leg go up involuntarily. All 8000 fans plus both teams say it was a freak accident . As for his penalty minutes that means he’s doing his job as a defender plus most of them were for arguing with the refs/ linesmen.

  13. I’m more surprised the league is still letting him play after his history of behavior on top of this incident. Very insensitive to the victim…. it’s like giving a deadly drunk driver, car keys at a bar smh

  14. In all fairness no hockey player has ever kicked their leg in the air at another player's neck. It's an unnatural move , dirty play, penalty drawing and obviously unnecessarily dangerous. He should be removed from hockey forever and possibly a manslaughter charge. When I first heard about the player's death I thought I would find that both players fell and one player accidentally sliced the neck of the other. This is clearly very different from that. The harm and danger was deliberate. Maybe not the intent to kill but certainly to maim and injure.

  15. "The family that plots together rots together" was a brilliant comment! As for Petgrave, why is he being allowed to continue playing when he has such a history of violence? I hope that the Sheffield Steelers management team are also held responsible for any future incidents involving Petgrave being violent.

  16. I am sorry but why would you get the opinion of a person who clearly has no idea about hockey. I am Canadian and have been watching the game since I was a kid, with many close friends who played semi-pro and NONE of us have seen anything like this. This is NOT regular hockey. The guy didn't even issue an apology.

  17. I am from an ice hockey nation. It’s a penalty matter in the game if you lift your skates above certain line. I have watched a lot of ice hockey and never saw it being normal to lift your leg so high.

  18. "Sociopathic gene" is right with the Adelsons! Holy smokes – they're all sinister. Waiting on Wendi to get her day, even on an "after the fact" charge. Another great episode.
