  1. In Georgia it doesn’t matter. If you come over with someone u just met and they say, “hey I’m about to lic/steal from my cousins house real quick. I’m going to have him let me in and I’m just going to grab some games”. As he’s waiting outside, Cousin kid goes in and loses his stuff and murders his cousin. Leaves like nothing happened. The guy who decided to walk over there, whom he just met, and never stepped foot on the property, will also be charged with murder. Even if they don’t know as to what happened until days later. Doesn’t matter. They all get charged. It is what it is. This stands today.

  2. So basically the only snowball's chance of hell for Jussie's legal team to throw this case out is essentially what happened with Bill Cosby. The reason he's free right now despite being found guilty for his heinous crimes was because he had a handshake agreement with the prosecution that stipulated no jail time if he confessed. Due to the courts not honoring this plea bargain, he was able to get out on a technicality.

  3. Smollett didn't plead guilty in this case, and he wasn't convicted. So it will be interesting. Tort claim is interesting, but that wouldn't impact double jeopardy of the criminal case. Basically, he donated $10k and community service. Interesting if justice is supposed to be blind and equal treatment of the law, then why should there be a difference between high profile and not?

  4. Circumstantial can be very strong evidence. Why do you guys say it as if circumstantial is nothing. They never would've got Bundy if circumstantial is nothing!!

  5. The lax laws in California is why I'll probably never visit again. The fact that he can get off with burglary as opposed to murder is heartbreaking for her family. I think California will see a drastic rise in vigilantism since they cant get justice in court.

  6. Jussie Smollett bargained for “nolle pros “ and received it. Does that exempt him from being tried for the same crimes later? No – I think he will lose his appeal and have to finish his jail time – which in Chicago will only be 69 days ( with 6 days served) not the original 150. Cooks county does 2 for 1 on days served for good behavior.

  7. i watched the entire Heard Depp because I became fascinated with legal proceedings, not really that interested in the players. But I saw so much YT and MSM really stirred up more not less misinformation. Those is a murder trial, not a civil case, so I think cameras aren't a good idea. Oral recordings I think would be a good compromise. Also the potential jurors may try to get a pass because their lives will be hell from the invasive media.

  8. Literally do not care about that weirdo who killed the college kids. Not sure how it’s exploded so big, when the bigger issue is parents killing their kids

  9. Here's what the smokescreen is with the smollet FAKE, Anti-White, Anti-MAGA hoax meant to frame White Trump supporters. THEY PASSED A FKING LAW BASED ON THIS FAKE HATE CRIME that abolished the actual punishment for TREASON in which there is an abundance of!

  10. I'm British and double jeopardy came to the US via British law but we got rid of it in 2003. I believe it only applied to murder in the UK anyway. But there was a case where someone admitted to the murder but had been found not guilty years earlier. Also, DNA evidence proved people guilty who had been found not guilty at trial and there were even a couple of cases of old gangsters writing books admitting they were actually guilty.
Anyway, not there has to be substantial new evidence, that is presented before a judge and if they agree this evidence proves guilt they can take you back to court for murder years later.
It's pretty interesting as it was one mother and one loudmouthed killer who changed centuries of law. It was that one case that convinced them to change the law.

  11. The Kohberger case will be a media storm whatever happens! Is it not better than the public get to see the proceedings to prevent accusations of shady goings on! This is the age we live in! No witness in a televised trial has ever been physically attacked by a member of the public have they?

  12. Hasn't Smollett's team tried this already? Several times! They tried it before his trial, during his trial and before his sentencing! The forfeit of the bond wasn't a fine it was presented as a 'donation' and his community service was awarded against charity work he had already carried out! Absolutely ridiculous! He made no plea or admission of guilt, in fact he did the opposite, he walked outside the court and said he had basically been proven not guilty! Plus the corrupt prosecutor Kim Fox faced zero repercussions for her shady actions! She should have recused herself in the first place and didn't! What a farce!
