Such a well-balanced and thought-provoking discussion! Well done!!
This may be a reach, but I’m wondering if his mother was hoping that he would off himself.
EC told his parents he was hearing voices.
He would text his parents when they would leave him at home while they were out of town without him.
He was left unsupervised a lot.
They bought him a gun.
23:49 how is everyone trying to stop this “epidemic” when the “thoughts and prayers” people are fighting against gun control??
These parents aided and abetted this kid. They had so many chances to intervene but were too wrapped up in their own bs to pay any real attention to their kid.
14:40 this is dumb af. What else is a defense team supposed to do??? Duh.
Listen, I feel like Ethan Crumley’s parents are exactly where they deserve to be because they chose willfully chose to ignore their sons please for help and buy him a firearm that later was used in a horrific school shooting. He shot 11 people and four of them were brutally murdered, at what point do we say enough is enough? Why would you buy your child who showing signs of mental illness a firearm that is negligence and stupidity now I don’t know exactly the exact sequence of events exactly when Ethan‘s parents were notified that he might have a mental illness, and they might need to check it out and get him some help, I think in this situation the teachers probably did the best they could but they only have so much power because it’s ultimately the parents who have a responsibility to get their child to help they need. I do not think that a child should be given the second amendment right to bare arms until they are responsible and 21 years old and there are a lot of 21-year-olds out there who are very irresponsible and don’t need to be in possession of a firearm, y’all need to be doing better because otherwise this is gonna just keep happening. Actually, I believe that it was the Thurston high school shooting that professionals said that Kip Kinkel‘s brain was the scariest thing they have ever seen so he definitely has some cognitive issues mental illness, whatever it was but every school shooting every person that has committed a school shooting has had some sort of an underlying mental illnessso parents need to do better and pay more attention to your kids and don’t buy them guns don’t buy them guns and yourself own firearms lock those bitches up and hide the keys
Thank you Matt, for defending our police officers. They need good people in their corner.
Failure to turn over exculpatory evidence was highly visible during the January 6 sham hearings. It’s one of the reasons that Pelosi kicked off the people from the committee that the Republicans had a right to place there so she could stuff it with people like Liz Cheney and Adam Kensinger. Because she knew they would not report, the exculpatory evidence to the defense as they had an obligation to
The parent-school conference with Ethan Crumbley was 2 hours before the shooting.⚖️
Diddy put the hit out!!!

Excellent show….. so refreshing to hear facts, truth and honesty..
The parents bought him a gun,,,,, SO YES,, they are criminally responsible….
Being responsible for your children is a good thing. The parents are a part of the problem for not actively parenting, poor judgement on their part. Perhaps parents need to get special insurance to cover this risk. Parents are ultimately responsible for the health and well being of their children. Peoples lives were changed forever and ended because of this negligence. Remember the bikers in FL who followed a pregnant lady home after some road rage? Killed her on her own lawn with her child. Many people pass weapons to friends who pass them to friends who owe people money. If we buy a weapon we are responsible for it, end stop. May need to even go by the Sheriff Department yearly to check it.
I thought he was guilty from day 1 😅 that pathetic tv plea for her safe return was pathetic 😅 ott emotional effort 😅
I agree but you can’t just blanket mental illness regarding owning a firearm. It just doesn’t make sense at least to me. Definitely each case needs to be individualized
None of this was new evidence🤯 tf?
Listening you two discussing 2nd amendment puts any political and mainstream media debate somewhere back to kindergarten 🙂
Feels like the host missed the part where the parents refused to take the child home in the Ethan Crumley case
Prosecutors are working against it but you know who’s not! The law makers! That can make gun control and responsibility make more sense
This guy is wrong on his views. What if a parent has their guns in a safe and the kids breaks into it? The parents are responsible even though they did their job securing the weapon?
The parents' trial is set for January 23, 2024. The parents not only bought their disturbed son the gun he used to commit the crime, but he also had access to a "weaker" gun that would not produce the same results in the desired fatalities. He had a journal in which he laid out his mass shooting plans over 29 pages. The day before the shooting, Ethan's mother texted him to inform him that she got a voicemail from the school stating he was looking up ammunition. She texted him, "You have to learn not to get caught." The parents sold their house and used the proceeds to pay for their attorneys and they let a public defender take on Ethan's case. I am a Michigander who lives in the Oxford area.
They could have bought him things to help him, but not a gun, what could they have been thinking?
I’m new to both of these gentlemen & I was in total agreement with EVERYTHING Matt said.
I absolutely agree that the parents of the kid of the school shooting should be held responsible, but so should everyone who knew of his mental health & didn’t check the backpack..
Also the quote about the case not being unsolved just unprosecuted definitely applies to Tupac.
the teachers should have called cps. they are mandated reports
As you said South Africa does have its issues and there are a lot but their gun rules are really good. They also insist on competency tests before you own a gun and this has to be done every couple of years to ensure that no mental issues develop over time. These rules should be considered across the world, its still gives people the right to carry but allows safe people to carry guns
So glad to hear someone who agrees parents should be held responsible in this case. The school should have been held responsible as well. From Michigan
They really used to say as a theroy the police killed Tupac. So glad they got everyone.
Thank you Joshua, I enjoy your podcast and thanks for having Matt on, great discussion! 😊
If anyone gets past our military I’m happy to know there will be a civilian militia for the enemy to deal with.
future is so so difficult and bleak as tyranny on rise and people are on mercy tyrannical/stupid governments which are on the rise in "Democratics' countries, no justice, no truth just madness
it will be so difficult as USA specially democrats lost any rationality, how much time they waste on enforce their policies based on lies and total madness
You are rational enough to judge these cases on its merits ,,the problem with certain prosecutors is their desire to blanket cover and bring the landmark case that they can stretch,,,no offense taken because you think like the growing minority with intelligence!!!!!!!
I think the fact that Ethan’s (?) parents fled and evaded police contributed to the high bail.
Something tells me Joshua never had gangsta rap on his play list 🤣
Total Matt Murphy fan. What a tremendous episode.
Just from reading the comments, these are the people who think the government is looking out for you. Please keep taking those vaccines
