In this episode of True Crime Daily The Podcast updates: The July 4 holiday should have been fun and festive for Wisconsin couple Bart and Krista Halderson. Instead, the couple was violently murdered and dismembered with their remains dumped in various locations.
Bart and Krista’s son, Chandler Halderson, reported them missing July 7, 2021, and said they went to their lake cabin but never returned. The next day, police found human remains in a rural area. The remains were identified as Bart’s. About three weeks later, investigators located Krista’s remains.
Chandler was initially arrested for providing false information, but prosecutors upgraded his charges to first-degree homicide, hiding a corpse, and mutilating a corpse.
He went to trial in January 2022. Dane County prosecutors told the jury that Chandler murdered his parents because they had discovered he had been lying to them about his attendance at college and his job prospects. After just two hours of deliberation, Chandler was convicted.
In March 2022, a judge sentenced Chandler to life in prison without parole.

The forensics, cell data witnesses, neighbor's camera footage of the house showing fire inside Chandler's house, all the testimony in the trial is absolutely amazing.

I hate it when police, attorneys, family of victims say someone is guilty bc they should've acted or not acted in a certain way. They didn't cry enough so it makes them culpable

The correspondent that claimed that the majority of kids who kill are white, is obscenely incorrect. The majority of kids who kill are actually African American. However, the kids who killed their parents the majority of the time are white. I feel like this correction needs to be a discerned.

Chandler claimed that his parents were going with unknown friends to celebrate the 4 th; at the small town parade. However there wasn't a parade. He also claimed they took a lot of alcohol with them. Then remarking about the cheap bar prices. Weird neighbors interactions inquiry about the cameras. He dumped the bodies in favored spots he had a history going too . His Dad had discovered the college deception. Police found wrapped in foil their phones in his garage. .
This newer generation of grown azz 'kids' is a crazy trip. We love, nurture, teach, feed them, etcetera. We think we know them; we believe they love us the same. Next thing we know, they are taking us out for something that could have been discussed as rational ADULTS 😢🤦

I don’t understand, is this an old broadcast? I watched the trial live…the mother’s body (parts) were found at another location. Near waters edge, where Chandler was known to frequent. Also, they found the Fathers body (again, parts) on the property of someone close to Chandler’s girlfriend (she called police to tell them she saw him coming out of the woods in the back of her property, acting suspiciously. They later found a shotgun hidden in a shed on the same property.
Chandler is a nut job, for sure! Suggest looking up more details on the case and trial…just crazy!!!

The bias language regarding the suspect is unsettling bc it seems like he’s already being given some degree of protection from a stiffer punishment. I hope the prosecution team doesn’t share the same sentiment as the commentator in this video.
