  1. I want to send my love to Elizabeth. I used to work in a shelter for women and children. God would never abandon you, and your story has touched my heart. I'll keep you in my prayers Elizabeth. You are wise, strong, and wonderful. I wish you all the wonderful things, and all the happiness this world has to give.

  2. Amen ma'am Jesus came to set you free from bondage abuse Nd oppression @ a Tym you needed peace being pregnant Nd trust the Lord for your own farm Nd you can always use the horse Nd buggy as a business in the city I'm sure Jesus would say well done my princess my good Nd faithfull servant

  3. What’s so special about Amish that the police don’t prosecute? Perverts.. people should shun their woodwork it sux, there’s a big family where I live and their creepy and I’d bet creepy stuff is happening.. Ohio is full of them.. cults allowed by government and protected.. Amish mafia lol..

  4. Glad this lady had the courage to leave. I am raised in a strong religious community but taught to think and act with agency and not be subject to giving our agency to someone else. So thankful. We are seeing this same intimidation of those in political parties. I have been watching videos of #walk away where some have been subject to cult like behaviors.

  5. This is just the tip of an iceberg. Not only is there still women and children being physically abused, but imagine the emotional and mental abuse going on that never gets spoken of…May God Bless her, those kids, and all the women and children who’ve yet to be saved.

  6. Brave, smart, incredible Christian! Jesus does not want you in this kind of relationship. No woman deserves this kind of life. I grew up in a family where my father constantly beat up my mother. He didn’t hit us kids but he did beat my mother. It affected us children the rest of our lives. You got your boys out into a happy Christian home. That’s what Christ wants for you! God bless you and your family! Prayers! 🙏❤️

  7. The Church also paid for his attorneys??? If Amish have such strict laws why do they support the wrong-doer in his evil actions and punish the victim?? Is it because he is a male?

  8. About the three bishops – I would be surprised if these three men had never coerced or harmed their own wives and/or their children to get their way. I would be surprised if they didn't hide multiple incidents of abuse, including sexual abuse. They were desperate to hold on to their power and keep the wraps on endemic practices. There needs to be deep investigations, and the closed nature of the Amish opened to standards of education and modern morals. It isn't okay to 'just forgive' and thus forget.

  9. I was raised Amish and my dad was abusive. My parents spent 6 months at one of these facilities and all they did was tell her to be more submissive and give him more s*x. They've been separated for years now and my mom is such a different person. Bless you for sharing your story and for doing the right thing for your kids. I know it takes strength to do that.

  10. I use to think being Amish was a cool thing. Love their sense of family, community, walking their beliefs. But I never knew of the ugliness. I should have known. Where there's humans, there is sin.
