In this episode of Crime Watch Daily Updates: Orlando, Florida was on edge while investigators searched for a man accused of killing two people.

On Dec. 13, 2016, Markeith Loyd went to his ex-girlfriend’s home and fatally shot her as she opened the door. The victim, Sade Dixon, was the mother of two young children and was three months pregnant at the time.

Orlando Police and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office kept their eyes peeled for Markeith, and they finally caught a break on January 9, 2017. Orlando Police learned he was at a local Walmart, so Sergeant Debra Clayton responded to the scene to arrest him. When she arrived, he shot and killed her. He fled again.

The manhunt for Markeith continued for days until he was finally apprehended on January 17, 2017.

In 2019, Markeith was convicted of killing his ex-girlfriend, Sade Dixon, and her unborn child, among other charges. He was sentenced to life in prison. Two years later, a jury found him guilty on charges relating to Sgt. Clayton’s death, who was posthumously promoted to Lieutenant. In March 2022, he was sentenced to death.

Let’s take a look back at the heartbreaking deaths of two mothers and an unborn child.

  1. I don't know why these people that want to report on crime online don't get the story straight the sergeant that was killed did not respond to the scene at Walmart she was already there in uniform shopping and she was off duty… someone approached her outside to let her know that they thought the man wanted in connection with his girlfriend's killing was inside the store well she approached him when he came outside and that's when he shot and killed her… if you going to report something get it Right

  2. I generally oppose the death penalty. It doesn't act as a deterrence, it costs more money (with appeals) then a life sentence and almost 200 people sentenced to death have been exonerated. In this case, however, I'm sorry they can only execute him once.

  3. But why? We need mental health centers and safe zones for this growing epidemic of crazy people. We need healthcare, just in general. Maybe he really just needed to talk to somebody and none of this would have happened.

  4. RIP to Debra Clayton for that killing alone he should die let alone his baby and baby's mother. But to put this man to death and not Nikolas Cruz is a disgrace to the judicial system.

  5. I understand getting his ass beaten but instead of just beating him because he killed a police. Why can't everybody that kill anybody. They should be beaten or killed they sane they killed other people.
I'm just tired of police can do what they want. They can kill people & don't get in trouble at all. If I touch a police I can get killed?? Don't agree with that at all. Lets get everybody equal then.
Nobody has ro agree with me though. Just my feelings.
One of my family killed two people. Why dont people get treated the same way that killed those 2 people? Of course not. She is never getting out of prison. Why should we be paying for murders for the rest of their life? Plus, maybe people wouldn't kill people if they got treated them the same way they killed other people

  6. I like how he told reporters they beat him up… like, no sh*t dude, you killed one thier own officers, and your pregnant gf by ambushing them… youre lucky thats all you got…

  7. It’s sad he only got the death penalty for killing the cop. If it was just his pregnant girlfriend I’m sure it would be life… but ehh whatever. Justice served 🎉

  8. I remember this as if it was yesterday! He was a monster and still is! R.I.P to everyone involved in these horrific crimes!! So sorry for the families of these women he coldly murdered!

  9. 2:54 "da baby standin' on his head"
This ignorant putz doesn't know that it's normal for babies to turn upside down, in the final weeks of pregnancy, or sometimes sooner, in preparation for passing through the birth canal, head first.
I think Mr. Lloyd was dropped on his head, as an infant.
