  1. I stumbled on this case while listening to Unsolved Murders podcast on Spotify. I was so intrigued by the case that I followed up with In Your Own Backyard. I am ecstatic to hear Kristin's family has finally been given the closure that they deserve. I wish the murderer's parents had been convicted of aiding and abetting. They participated 100% in protecting this monster. Most parents would do anything to protect their child even when s/he is guilty of a crime BUT it is extremely selfish to ignore the pain of the victim.

  2. Can the Prosecution not respond too the non guilty verdict try again too convict the father ….. I do believe his father helped him get rid of the Kristine’s body. Nice that Paul was convicted no drought he guilty too bad the father was found not guilty .the system failed .

  3. i can not believe that tis evil person is allowed to represent himself and put these victims through the pain of having to be question by a killer, i could not control my self from jumping over and try to harm him, i praise them for keeping their cool, God bless them

  4. Just FYI- no woman, or man for that matter, needs ANY F*CKING EXCUSE or reason as to why they didn’t speak up about being RAPED “soon enough”. That makes me sick, to hear you outline that defense and speak about it as though it had any f*cking merit at all.

When you rape a person, you destroy a piece of their soul. People spend years coming to terms with it, sometimes denying the reality that it happened, sometimes even believing it was their own fault. These are defense mechanisms to preserve what’s left of a human after this bastard steamrolled through their lives.

So for you to make the argument that, “well gee, why didn’t they go to authority sooner?”, when the destruction of their entire existence perpetrated by the defendant himself is precisely what CAUSED their inability to come out sooner, makes me quite literally want to vomit on the two of your fancy and expensive suits.

    How dare you.

  5. In regards to Paul Flores, if you're not convinced; In 2003, Paul Flores’ attorney Melvin De la Motte met with the Smart family attorney James Murphy to discuss a deal. Murphy spoke with law enforcement about a proposal that offered to disclose where Kristen’s BODY was in exchange for a minor charge such as an infraction…. so. There's that

  6. Wow!! Competition on which notable attorney has the best head of hair……coin toss!! Richard Schoenstein adds a great Ying to your Yang, Josh! Great analysis on this Smart case that I've followed for decades and acknowledge all the botched-up police investigation and dropped balls plus the excess time etc. but in the end, the jury got this one right. I'd say the father and possibly both parents are guilty of accessory in reality but suspect the jury just couldn't agree on the scant actual evidence. Any way you slice it, this was an awful, senseless sad case all around and although people will argue that it needed some kind of resolution, I believe the justice system worked and they got their right man in the end. 7. The Waukesha judge has the patience of a saint. I don't think I could control myself being a juror without screaming at him to shut the hell up. I think it's insane along with ignorant for him to represent himself. We all know he's guilty we all watched it, however he deserves a fair trial. There needs to be a law put in place if somebody wants to represent themselves that they need an actual attorney as a second chair. That way the judge doesn't have to answer legal questions the state doesn't have to be nice he has an attorney to ask the questions that he doesn't know the answers to. This whole trials insane and I truly hope they bury him under the jail.

  8. 23:59 I think the majority of the entire world would agree, that THAT is one ugly, scary, pathetic SOB/POS. It seems that going from a filthy rich sex addict/freak, to a convicted felon/rapist etc isn't digesting well for him in the slammer! Good-You REAP what you SOW, Harvey Rapestein!
