This Twin Turbo Genesis G90 ran through the auction for over a month. The selling dealer claimed it had a bad engine problem, and it needed an entire new engine. I took a gamble at a 50% discount and got super lucky…

I don't understand, while you are there, why not service all injectors and change spark plugs, gaskets, and make this car ride freely for another 60k without issues? Would cost you extra couple hundreds but you are still making a lot more on this car.
Nice Score!
How about using a 24mm ratcheting box wrench?
Long term quality on these is crap.
Are there digital gages to look for actual oil pressure in the menu?
Sam, if the lexus starts at 80k and the genesis at 89k, which one has more features for the price of the low tier? you probably didnt do that, usually Hyundai gives you more features at the lower trim.
Reliability nightmare. $$$$$
….Ratchet wrenches.
You got genisist
They are nice cars, but not a long term keeper car in most cases.
That is one hell of a deal Sam, maybe the deal of the year. I wish I could do things like this, I would not buy some of the cars you do because I could not afford them or the repairs on them, but buying and fixing up like Honda's or just cars under $10K would be a cool thing. Thanks for sharing and good luck with the Genesis
Love this channel. Playing the lottery every day.
Sam, I have a 2016 Genesis sedan that I bought in 2019. It is by far the best car that I have driven. I spent my whole business career (50 years) as a traveling salesman and have driven many company and personnel cars. The Genesis has never let me down. Besides general maintenance the only item that was a minor problem was water getting into one of the rear tail lights making it flash at twice the normal rate. I have 161,000 kilometers (~100,000 miles) current and will continue to drive it into retirement! Good luck with your Genesis.
Bit of a nightmare for Joe public to change that sensor !
Had the same peoblem with my 5.3. The sender was kinda a pain to get at but was like $15.
No covering the holes of the intake ports.I will not buy that car.
Sounds like a Diesel Tractor
Can you Put the Sensor in a different spot
Man, its amazing to see how far Hyundai has c ome from their initial days in the North American market (crappy engines), anyway the Japanese are right to worry about competition from the Koreans
They actually make a special socket for that oil pressure sensor
The dealer didn't lose anything on this vehicle. You don't know what they allowed for trade-in, or what they got for what they sold. Having worked a dealership I can tell you they have a formula to determine if any money should be invested in a trade-in. A lot of times they'll just wholesale it to an auction because they already made their mark on the customer sale.
That is a Hyundai, it was born with a bad engine
They are very nice cars
I ONLY DRIVE EXPENSIVE BEAMER. THEY THINK YOU ARE RICH
I can't believe there's not a tool that can work better than that. It's a beautiful car, I'd buy it!
After my dealings with kia regarding the engine recall that brand can kiss my entire 🤬
I used to have the same thoughts about the Genesis being a budget luxury car. I was in the market for a used luxury back in 2012 and a buddy of mine said his brother in law was being relocated overseas and looking to sell his car. He initially said it was a Lexus but when I got in contact with his bro in law I found out it was a Hyundai. My first reaction was lets just forget this whole thing, but he convinced to me to give it a test drive. So I did and bought it, hahhaha. I kept it for many years and only sold it after my wife side swiped my other car when she was in a rush. I do miss that car very much but I have to say the prices have gone up so much its no longer the hidden gem it once was.
Dude wash your freaking engine before pulling off parts. You have no idea what your doing.
That didn't seem to bad it only took you 19 minutes
I work at Hyundai, Genesis is a mice car. BUT they always came in for a SHIT load of problems. Fir a warranty repair they forsee Hyundai to JUMP through alot of unnecessary photos ,videos. Especially if we are doing a engine warranty work just for replacing it.
loose the trainer go carnivore diet
This car was $69K New, Them Korean Cadillacs sure are overpriced.
I had 2017 G90 3.3tt awd. This car is so underrated and under appreciated. Amazing car.
I wish I could afford to buy that thing from you lol! I just turned 16 not to long ago and have to buy my own first car with little to no help. If i had the money, I'd buy it from you in a heartbeat. Because I trust your judgement with the car. Someday, oneday I might be able to get me a car. Hopefully as nice as that one. Thank you for leading me towards a good suggestion!
Great video Samuel
I forgot to connect my coolant hose when I changed the spark plugs to my q and it did the same shit I was panicking 😂
Your OG subscribers would like some more new content. What's up Sam, where ya hiding? Have you been naughty and being punished by step mom? Should we be worried?
Watching this while waiting on for the oil pressure sensor being replaced on my kia Sedona
I hate cars.
Doing a DI injector job slightly wrong and the car bursts into flames. Hope you read the official procedure, replaced all appropriate gaskets and seals, and torqued everything to spec.
Thanks for this video, Samcrac. I've been considering one of these generation G90's for a little while now. While the newer G90 is nicer, there are some really great deals to be had on this generation.
I had a 2014 Hyundai Equus, the predecessor to the G90. Really nice car and pretty reliable. Only issue is the air suspension that they threw out for the G90. Great cars for a bargain
I might get one of those cars im thinking about a used s550 or audi a8 maybe even a bmw 7 around ten years old im thinking that Hyundai will be cheaper to maintain than the others i want a big car with alot of room in the back.. the genisis looks so nice to me
as hes dumping dirt and sand into the intake onto the cylinders…
Has he ever heard of a workshop manual?
Lexus still to much toyota in them eg a camry or one of the SUV's thats tarted up and often made to look more odd than the toyota its based on while the Genesis range looks great and don't have the same level of platform/model sharing that lexus has still. And just look at some of the new Lexus suvs over the past 10 years and wow how did they ok the strange and ugly designs? So genesis just looks more normal in a luxury car or SUV and why people like them over a lexus.
