  1. I remember reading in the Projekt 928 book, how Porsche developed the torque tube for the 928. They were aiming for a 50/50 weight split (First car in the world to have that) and that meant having a transaxle at the back. They used a Mercedes 500 as the development car, and they tried several different methods of connecting the motor to the gearbox. They had a lot of trouble with harmonic vibrations at certain speeds, and they eliminated these by adding driveshaft bearings at weird distances from each other, to prevent any standing waves developing.
    I also remember that if you remove the torque tube from a 928, and fail to re-install it correctly, the torque tube can apply forward pressure onto the crankshaft, and it destroys the engine in just a few hundred miles. OOPS.

  2. I am so glad that when I got my 928 more than 16 years ago, I knew it would cost a fortune to repair, maintain, and upgrade. And I have spent more than 70K on it since I got it. I was well aware of the old adage that many are not familiar with:
    THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A BUDGET PORSCHE,
    ONLY A BUDGET FOR A PORSCHE.

    But it wasn't until after I got my black-on-black '1989 supercharged 911 road legal race car (done up like a 964 RS) that I learned what PORSCHE actually stands for:
    Plenty
    Of
    Racing
    Should
    Cause
    Heavy
    Expenditure.

Sam please stop putting rich in your videos I hate this through the phone on his videos that's why I stopped watching his videos as I just found them so annoying and now you're putting riches crap in your videos deeply disappointing I get that you all seem to collaborate you cavourish our friend in Chicago but riches singing and flutophone or recorder or whatever it is is the most annoying sound in the world and makes me close the video and thumbs it down

  5. When you watch back your own video and you see just how much that axle stand is wobbling, I feel that you won't be doing that again. So dangerous. You won't even get a warning just before that car falls down and you both die.

  6. Nomble super car Aston Martin but if has problems, is a great pain in the ass ! You can't afford the money bill ! Even a V8 like that beauty ! The man who had that car was so devotee to this beauty who done a big mistake in all procedure !

    Aston Martin with no clutch is a big problem … by the ways , V12 manual , Aston Martin of Martin' s is a sounding F1 beast ! Great engine ! I love so much Aston Martin Vulcan ! A difficult project guys , good luck and patience !

  7. The only people who would be glad to help you is the manufacturer. Nobody here would because your taking money out of their pockets. They paid to learn how to repair those probably. So if I had to guess they might not be happy if everyone knew how to do that for free. I don't know what I'm talking about. And I was in the automotive industry for 15 years. It's just my opinion

  8. Save yourself replace the engine and drivetrain with an LS AND A 10 SPEED AUTOMATIC and call it a day then drive your Aston Martin for the next ten years.

  9. I'm surprised that the clutch looks that good. I expected it to come out in chunks. I could have told you that the problem was not the release bearing. If it was, it would have ground the gears every time you tried to put it in gear. That is, unless it had jammed in its most outward position. In that case the car simply would not move. Either way, all of it needs to be replaced.
