  1. 19:43 Depends on the damage and the drivers for the airbags. If the explosive component driving is Sodium Azide… No. Or at least not without stripping the cabin down the metal and decontaminating each part piece by piece.

  2. Thoroughly enjoyed watching this series. Well done getting this all sorted out. To answer your question, NO I would not buy a wrecked car even though it’s been repaired. It’s like dropping an M&M in a dog turd, fish it out, thoroughly clean and sanitize it, then tell me it’s safe to eat. Yeah… I’m not eating that.

  3. The amount of electronics in just the seat belt system is mind boggling. And radar, come on, people, we don't need all this stuff..

  4. I will not buy any Cadillac unless new with a warranty. As soon as the warranty is up it is gone. That’s my take and I am sticking to it.

  5. As long as it looks and drives clean and I get the appropriate discount, I would have no problem driving a car with previous accident damage or even a salvage title.

  6. What you are describing is not a repair job, but an attempt to swindle you, and a super dangerous at that. Belt tentioners and airbags disabled`? That repair shop guy belongs in jail. If you had come into an accident and none of the systems work, you would get seriously hurt or killed! Would you have got your restitution and damages paid by that fraudster, you think?

  7. Interesting how it turned out. I think the gods were with you on this one.
    1. It could have been more costly to repair
    2. I don't think it's enough discount. People who know these systems are few.
    3. There's no telling what else will crop up after the video. Escalades are notorious. I'd never buy one.

There's an ethical question as well. Since now you know what happened to this car (to some degree), are you required to report it when trying to sell? Like you said, you're not going to even try the one dicey sensor that stops the car automatically. Could you be sued?

  8. Not a problem getting a car that was in need of repair my Dad and Brother repaired a bunch of cars when I was a kid my first car was a salvaged 1981 Toyota Celica 5 speed ST ran great best starter car around.

  9. Great job !!!! I’m not that hi tech!! I’ve had bad experiences with wrecked vehicles in the past it’s the not knowing how bad they were wrecked that would drive me crazy!!!!!! I’ll go new cause I can afford it, but back then I couldn’t so got big big discounts and had to work on it!!!!!

  10. How sure are you that the mileage is legit? Did the history report have regular mileage reports over time including recently? Its obvious that whoever owned it previously favored budget repair shops vs. the shops that report the work they have done – like collision repairs. I have seen reports suggesting that more than 50% of cars have had some level of collision repair reported or not. My guess is that I have likely bought cars that had collision repairs that I didn't know about. I would have no problem buying a well repaired car (well repaired meaning there were no obvious remnants of the repair).

  11. yes i have bought 2 93 honda put 170k no problems sold for haif what ipaid for it #2 toyota still have put 30000 k so far cost less than 200 a month, new $45000 i paid $17500 like new good for another 10 years

  12. You got a great deal on this! I would definitely get a car that was in an accident if I had your knowledge and skills to repair it all, especially for that discount.

  13. Samcrac is smart. Buyer asks for repair documentation. Samcrac responds, "Here's the repair video link. Hit like and subscribe."

  14. I own a 2014 Ford Fusion SE which I bought in 2018 for $11,000 with 63000 mi. Carfax showed it to have been in 1 minor accident which required a drivers side door skin repair & repaint. This Carfax report was consistent with the vehicle history given by seller. I have never had the car in for any mechanical repair. Only regular maintenance & upkeep. I had to do what any used car buyer does: try to make the best decision possible based on information gathered before the purchase. Even with a new car purchase you take a chance, ask any Mopar owner.

  15. Not worth the headache to save $10k and have a vehicle with an unknown record that definitely has at least one seat belt exploding front end wreck. If you are like Sam and do this for fun and have all the tools and experience and free time then go for it. Your average car buyer would lose money on this paying a shop to find and fix it all the issues.

  16. I am late to the game, but the car looks great. Bought an identical one from my step mom after my dad passed. Yes, I would buy the car. Prior to the 2016 I had a 2014 that was sideswiped by a semi. $18k in damage. Fixed well and I bought it from my dad when we found the 2016. You do nice work, Sam, and I would not hesitate to buy one of your cars.

  17. The only vehicles I would not be interested in buying after a collison is an E-car.My sister was involved in an accident in her Prius, the insurance company gave her 1/3 of the Blue book because as they stated: your battery shelf life is almost spent.

  18. Luxury vehicle … 2015 premium, 27800.00 (I paid over 100,000.00 for mine) crash would not matter to own the luxury … only 30000 miles … great looks … fun to repair … no salvage title … I wonder what happened to the suspension links?! But overall you got a deal! I’ll buy it from you for 35,000.00

  19. A trick with the sway endlinks: with the sway still attached on the other side, jack the unassembled side up. It will keep the sway bar in place but compress the middle bushings. Bonus if you can jack it up by that endlink bolt.

  20. Thats what i figured for numbers and lets be honest 10k is 10k. People cry for $20 so saving that much mustve felt great. Seems you lucked out on this purchase and lets hope it stays that way 😁
