How did you end up giving up your id and answering all of his questions as to where you lived, did you drive from LA just to take pictures, what other places you had taken pictures of? What ever happened to "I don't answer questions"? Is it really a 1st amendment audit if you cave as soon as you are confronted?
Never, ever, ever answer any questions by cops, do not engage. they try to act like your buddy, but I assure they are not good guys.

Taking pictures of the refinery has always been a BIG NO NO. This is because of industrial sabotage, I'm sure now it's terrorism. It has always been known that you don't just walk up and start taking pictures and yes the ESPD have been charged with handling these incidents since the City of El Segundo would not be there but for the refinery. The name El Segundo is also the name of the refinery. Meaning the second in spanish for those who don't know. It was the second refinery for Chevron.
