LAPD in South Central Los Angeles – Stop and Search – Everything Law and Order Blog

LAPD unmarked cars were out in force along Figueroa. They were stopping vehicles for mundane and minor traffic violations and then pulling drivers and passengers out for full searches. This is a blatant violation of 4th Amendment rights.

  1. What did all of the "suspects" have in common ? They were all innocent.  No tickets and nothing illegal found.  This shows the police search people without any reasonable suspicion or probable cause.

  2. These stops are essential in an effort to root out the criminal element. If you don't fit the bill of a thug, you won't get stopped like this. Stop whining about rights when the rights of decent citizens are being violated continually by thugs.

  3. It would be great for a guy critiquing the police to have some knowledge of how they operate … but no your a dumbass that has no freaking clue what your talking about.

  4. That’s the LaPD Violence suppression unit (METRO) I have a license and valid insurance & registration & still get pulled out my car without even getting a reason for the stop. On Florence & Arlington st.

  5. It's not a Fourth Amendment violation if you agree to the search, which I'm sure most of these people did. Or some could be on Parole or Probation and have lost that given right. However the Police will do whatever they want, but it does not always hold up in court.

  6. The great irony of "The Law" is that so many laws have been signed into law that not even a team of lawyers would be able to represent you in all circumstances. I've heard that no one knows exactly how many laws exist, the problem is how many crimes will there be in the future? Because you have to remember that the government is passing bills making certain actions illegal, how far will this process go? Most of us violate the law everyday without being aware of it, which is why allowing searches to occur is the worst thing you could do. So based on the fact that we don't know exactly how many laws exist, and that the police are not lawyers or often not well versed on the law, how in the world can you say that this is a "Criminal Justice System"? The police state is already here.

  7. Maybe the reason they were pulled out was because they’re on probation or parole, you idiot

  8. Unmarked patrol that's LApd Metro division. And yes that's how they operate.doesn't matter if your with your kids, they will pull there guns out.

  9. Well maybe if the people in neighborhoods like this could live civilized lives and stop shooting each other then maybe they wouldn’t be searched all the time. Funny how society has somehow made criminals into being innocent and the cops are now the bad guys, pathetic.

  10. This is an outstanding video. The minute you step inside a tin can (car van or truck) the police seem to think that the Constitution no longer applies! This type of behavior by law enforcement has serious repercussions – cops are seen as an occupying army or gestapo goons!
