Tulsa police released dashcam video of a traffic stop in which a vehicle nicks a police officer as it plows into a police cruiser and smashes a woman between two vehicles. At about 11:30 on Sunday, November 13, an officer pulled a 40-year-old woman over on a traffic stop near Interstate 44 and Memorial. The video shows the woman and officer standing behind the woman’s car about 15 feet in front of the officer’s car. Almost nine minutes into the stop, a truck pulling a trailer slams into the cruiser, crushing the woman between the cruiser and her vehicle.

The video shows the truck speeding away from the scene. The officer can be heard calling for backup and paramedics while the woman can be heard crying and moaning in the background. According to a crowd funding site set up for the woman, she suffered a shattered pelvis and multiple leg fractures. Investigators tracked the suspect’s truck to a nearby residence. Officers say they arrested Johnie Dwayne Hunter on charges of felony hit and run and an outstanding warrant.

  1. Why stop in an active lane on the highway with no real shoulder, I would get off at the next exit and if the cop says why you didn’t stop I would say for mine and your safety.

  2. Think they could let her off this time. Don't have to of course, but really, I think if there's a next time she'll leave the weed at home. Ever notice the only time people really get into trouble with it, is when they get stopped with it in their car? Doubt the police are going to bother raiding your home for your recreational/medicinal stash.

  3. All because the cop just had to go after that "devil's lettuce" right? On a highway at night time when there's drunk drivers mind you. Cops would be better off telling politicians to take there weed laws and shove em up there asses!

  4. how could police do a traffic stop on a highway.. could have avoid all this by just telling them to get out of the next exit and pull over on a normal street.

  5. Worked in a trauma OR for years. I'm convinced a broken pelvis has to be one of the most painful things. Didn't matter who came in, if that pelvis was broken they were screaming every lil bump the stretch hit on the way to surgery.

  6. I'm not a religious person but here's my take I work every day I bust my ass and I make a decent living thank God and my family. I don't drink, do drugs, never had to drive in the dead of night and everytime I come across an officer I respond and talk to them respectfully. I'm not telling you how to live your life, but if you get caught in the dead of night with drugs in your car and arguing a cop you get everything that is coming to you and I don't feel sorry for it.

  7. See what happens when you're smoking them marijuanas kids?)) Jk, hope that woman recovered well…

  8. I never pull over for police on the highway, especially at night. I exit and then pull over. A few extra minutes is worth everything for both the police and myself.

  9. It takes a special kind of low-life to make a mistake like this and then run home to cower without a care in the world as to what he did

  10. Seems like he wasn't in a hurry to take care of the woman after impact, but he was probably in shock and not prepared to see what sort of gory scene was laying on the pavement. Also very important to make sure a dangerous driver is located and stopped before endangering anyone else. I'm guessing these officers have a very strict do-not-stand-between-vehicles policy now.

  11. That poor woman… Those police did the best they could under very trying circumstances… I hope that lady is recovering well from the accident.

  12. Traffic stop 101 in the police academy. When you pull someone over you cut your wheels all the way to the curb side. So in the event this happens the car will turn in to the wall or median, and should cause the rear end to swing around the space between your patrol vehicle and the car you stopped.
