Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department’s (LAPD) Force Investigation Division is investigating an Officer-Involved Shooting (OIS) that occurred in Devonshire Division.
On November 1, 2020, around 6:00 p.m., a man, later identified as 37-year-old Manuel Marshall Hernandez, was found inside the rear warehouse area of a grocery store in the 16900 block of Devonshire Street. A store employee told Hernandez he needed to leave the area. While he was walking Hernandez out of the store, Hernandez took a handgun from his waistband and pointed it at the employee. Hernandez fled toward the rear of the store and the employee called 9-1-1.
Devonshire Division officers responded and found Hernandez standing on top of a fixture near the front of the store. For several minutes, officers tried to convince Hernandez to surrender. Suddenly, Hernandez jumped down and ran toward the rear of the store, holding a firearm in his hand. Hernandez fired at an officer, at that time there was an officer-involved shooting.
Hernandez was not struck by gunfire and was able to run out a rear exit of the grocery store and across Balboa Boulevard. He ran into a convenience store where held the clerk at gunpoint. Additional officers responded to the area and Hernandez ultimately surrendered.
One police officer was transported to a local hospital for an injury they sustained during the officer-involved shooting. Hernandez was transported to a local hospital for a medical evaluation. No one else was injured during the incident.
A handgun was located in the convenience store and collected as part of this investigation.

Everyone just take a moment to see how stupid that Sergeant is. He walks around without his gun drawn, no cover and in the line of fire . WOW, I always thought LAPD had their SHT together. Nope.
i watch hundreds of video's of citizens recording the police whenever they stop someone in a car or at their houses or when they're in any altercation with someone who needs to be dealt with immediately …i totally agree that we all have the right to record anything in public even the police when they are on a call as it is our constitutional right. …but i get so upset whenever i see the people recording starting an arguing with the police or if they get too close to their investigation" ..these people recording have got to understand that any police officer has to have his eyes and mind completely trained on the person they stopped or in any investigation site'' because as we can see with all these police video's that a police officer can be shot at any time and if their mind is distracted by people recording them or arguing or yelling out things that they don't like"" it puts the officers in grave danger and they could shot at and even killed because they're distracted" ..please to everyone out there you do have a right to record the police but please be professional and don't start yelling things at the police or cause a disturbance'' because it only takes a second to end a persons life, .. the police have a very dangerous job as it is'' and the last thing they need is someone distracting their thought away from the real danger' …please try to have more respect for all police officers when recording them and please don't start an argument with them if you don't agree with something they do at least until they're out of danger, i agree not all police are bad and yes there are a few bad ones who let their badge go to their head but still use proper channels to adress this and not while they're in danger, thank you all, and especially thank you to all of the courageous police officers who protect us all in America and put their lives on the line every single day to help us, , ****

1) That officer with 23 years got lucky, he was complacent and dropped his shield, turned his back to an armed individual.
