A jailed fugitive who engaged Washoe Sheriff’s deputies in a high-speed chase earlier this year has filed a federal lawsuit against the deputies claiming they used excessive force by siccing a dog on him after he surrendered. Eugenio Enrique Corona’s lawyers say their client had stopped running and knelt on the ground with his hands on his head when Deputy Jason Wood released his police dog, Rony. The lawsuit states Wood commanded Rony to “get that bad guy†before the dog latched on to Corona’s arm. Washoe County Sheriff’s spokesman Bob Harmon said he could not comment on the lawsuit. Assistant District Attorney Paul Lipparelli said he hadn’t seen the lawsuit yet and couldn’t comment until it had been served.

I dont know what this guy did, and many of these ignorant asshole i prefer it if the cops would put a bullet in their skull. But this dude seemed pretty damn compliant to me. Most of every profession is good, but bad exist no doubt.
How can a justice system that consists of lawyers be honest or just in any way? Every judge is a lawyer, every prosecutor is a lawyer, not to be captain obvious but every lawyer is a lawyer. If you're not a lawyer, a corporation or fifthly rich you're hardly an american at all.
That officer should not be allowed to work K9! Poor dog was just doing his job. And the officer could not even get his dog off the suspect, they had to rip the sleeve off!

Follow up: no admission of wrongdoing by the SO. $17,500 settlement to the suspect. Nobody was fired.
Maybe don’t run from the police then if you can’t suffer the consequences. I agree it was excessive but, that’s the risk you take when you break the law.
A Reno man who was mauled by a police dog after surrendering during a police chase has settled his excessive force lawsuit against two Washoe County deputies for $17,500.
Eugenio Corona sued the two deputies in July, claiming they used excessive force and violated his civil rights by siccing a K-9 on him as he knelt on the pavement with his hands held on his head.
He was awarded $17,500 as settlement.
WTF he literally surrendered and he still yelled "GET THAT BAD GUY, STOP RESISTING!" They train these asshole cops to say this bs so in the court they can show the video and say "I TOLD HIM TO STOP AND I FEARED FOR MY LIFE YOUR HONOR!" Cops always looking for an excuse.
He got $17,500 from this case. All of which will be eaten up in legal fees.

People are only talking about the k-9 officers actions. What about his fellow officers' lack of actions? They all saw the same thing we did. Yet, none of them confronted him or reported it to their superiors or the state. They are equally as guilty for allowing it to happen.
