First hand experience from the consequences of the travesty that is the serpa derpa holster. I attended a training class where a student there was carrying a S&W M&P in a serpa holster. The first drills we went through covered drawing from the holster, I was stationed right next to this student and I noticed on a cold practice he struggled to draw his firearm, he did exactly what nick mentioned earlier; he pulled the firearm too soon thus not allowing the locking mechanism to unlock. I assisted and told the student that to his own stupidity he claimed “I know what I’m doing I am a…â€
next drill and course of fire come and that’s when shit blew up for this guy. Improper draw and bang! Finger was inside the trigger upon the draw and a round went through and through his leg. Called a cease fire and emergency medical response. Tourniquet was applied and he was transported to hospital.
The class stopped and the instructors refunded us our money.
Well three months later they’re hosting the same class and they told me to come attend for free. I show up and guess who’s there. Yup the student who shot himself, what is he using for a holster this time…a Safariland!
Told his story to the class and I’m glad he did because there was 3 students in that class with the serpa shit. They immediately threw them away and used some holstered provided by the instructors.
Bottom line: Don’t every buy, us or carry Blackhawk Serpa holsters.

Drinking hot coffee in a w a r m garage… What a trooper
Well, in the German army the Serpa is the standard issued holster and I've never heard about any problems regarding it and I'm an Unteroffizier so responsible for teaching shooting to new comrades so I should know.
Maybe it's since we use the huge P8's, and well I'm in the Guards so we don't have recruits under 1.75 M. so most of us put the hand long on the trigger guard not on the ,,thing" above it
The reson they where shootig them selves in the leg was because of how they where using the holster you dont your the tip of your trigger finger you use the pad of your finger so it's more of a training issue not a placement issue
The reason why they would be smashing that release harder than someone smashing your like or subscribe button is because they are yanking on it while trying to push in the paddle release. It was not designed for that. I wouldn't use it for a duty holster because of the mere fact it can be easily defeated by a piece of cardboard, and with that being said I can not nor want to imagine what it would be like if I am having a UOF go sideways, and now I can't draw my weapon because some gravel got stuck in the release mechanism.
Can u do a show on diffrent companies that sell BPV
And compare them to see whos better
Used Blackhawk Serpa holsters for my Glock 21SF, Ruger SR9 and Springfield XD40 pistols for 10 years and never had a problem. Practice! Practice! Practice!
Is there not an actual youtube vid of a guy shooting himself on accident using this holster?

Black Hawk is one of the best brands. I have never had any problem with my holster!!!
Some sub to me
I went with the Blackhawk Epoch Holster personally but still keep my Safariland in my trunk
I never have a problem with mine with my Ruger p345. I’ve been carrying it in a Blackhawk Serpa for 7 years. I never had problems for my duty weapon at loomis.
Please
Can I have the level 3 holster
When I was active duty usmc we had serpas for the m9 and I watched a bunch of videos on it (I like to do my research on a product before I buy/use it) I asked about people who had nds and I was told that's poor training and if you crank one off in your leg you'll probably just hit your knee since your femoral is on the inside of your leg. Gotta love military instructors
Leather holsters, worked for years, continue to work. Best things on the market.
