The second incident involving a shooting in Daytona Beach this week sparked tensions between myself and the chief who wanted to know who I was.
First, I know there are several good people that work at this department, however when leadership paves the way to treat people in public based off their appearance, and their desire to record incidents like the group of people next to me its alarming. Officers will think its ok to aggressively challenge a citizen.
The chief later apologized but the problem here is that after saying NOTHING his engaging back to me with such aggravation was grounds for him to appear that he wanted to keep the argument going. I clearly wanted to peacefully record. That’s it.
