On March 13th, 2023, a series of chaotic events led to one of the most memorable police chases in Federal Way, Washington. It all began when officers found 41-year-old Gerald passed out in his truck, which was still in drive, outside a Comfort Inn. After two hours of attempting to wake him up, he finally came to, only to attempt an escape that led to multiple police chases. Officers, suspecting DUI, had pinned his vehicle to prevent his getaway, but Gerald’s impaired judgment turned the situation into one of the more bizarre police chases of the year. During these police chases, authorities noted a suspicious bag in his truck, possibly containing a rifle, adding to the tension. Gerald’s attempt to flee was short-lived as he was eventually subdued with a Taser. Following the police chases, Gerald was charged with DUI, resisting arrest, and other offenses. His misguided effort to sleep off his intoxication behind the wheel culminated in his arrest and a hospital visit for a blood test.
