Whitehall, Ohio — On April 27, 2022 around 1:15 am, Whitehall Police officers located a stolen vehicle in the city. The driver and only occupant was 16 years old. The driver led officers on a high-speed pursuit through the city. Officers successfully deployed stop sticks in an attempt to bring the pursuit to a stop. The juvenile attempted to flee from officers on foot by jumping out the moving stolen car. Officers arrested him for Receiving Stolen Property. He was taken to Mt. Carmel East for minor injuries. The vehicle continued for a few hundred yards before coming to rest. The driver has recent arrests for being in stolen cars. He was wearing a neck brace at the time of this incident from a previous accident in a stolen vehicle. The Juvenile Detention Facility screened him and decided he did not meet the criteria set forth by the Franklin County Juvenile Court System for acceptance into the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center. Officers also turned him over to the Village Network Reception Center.
