6. So, I know that MDPD is called a police department, and I am hearing alot of Miami Dade Sheriff's Office, why do they go by police department rather than Sheriff's Office? I know that the difference is that a SO has the Sheriff voted in, where a PD the chief is appointed, the jurisdiction is the county, but is there any other difference?
