Bakersfield, California — On August 15th, 2022, at approximately 5:20 AM, the Bakersfield Police Department received a report of an adult male subject attempting to force entry into a residence in the 5700 block of Aquamarine Peak Way. The male was later identified as Martiniano Jimenez (35) of Bakersfield. The family inside of the residence did not know Jimenez. At 5:23 AM, Bakersfield Police Officer J. Nogueda arrived and made contact with Jimenez. Jimenez ignored commands and advanced on the officer while armed with a rock. Officer Nogueda discharged his firearm; however, did not strike Jimenez. An additional officer responded as the shooting occurred and deployed his Taser and Jimenez was taken into custody with no further incident. Officer Nogueda has been placed on paid administrative leave while the investigation is being conducted. Jimenez was arrested for aggravated assault, attempted burglary, felony vandalism and public intoxication and booked into the Kern County Jail.

  1. The people running behind the suspect while the officer has a gun aimed at him are f’ing morons. Ridiculous. There is nothing they could have done besides get stabbed or get shot. Why was their plan?

  2. In Texas this cretin could have been shot by the homeowner stopping a felony at night. Good laws stop bad people because folks can defend themselves without waiting on cops.

  3. If I was the home owner I would have offed that person within seconds and saved tax payers money he literally just wrecked a tail light on a truck and a window along with some other things on that truck WTF. For someone as reckless as this I hope they keep him behind bars and leave him to rot that was a really nice truck imagine how much money that man saved up to pay for that truck then someone who is drunk comes and wrecks it.

  4. The other guy was awesome at staying in the officer's crossfire the entire time he was walking around in the street….smh

  5. You never see this in Arizona where every man and women has their own concealed carry and an AR to boot. Dare you to come mess with my truck at 5am

And that officer needs more range time geesh – missing at 3 yards

  6. This was like a bad episode of Reno 911 but much funnier where the hell did these two cops come from like do they teleport in California cuz there's no gas cars anymore or did they segue to the scene

  7. All i know is if that was my house! that prick would’ve met my glock! ESPECIALLY IF I SEEN HIM VANDALIZE MY WHIP ON CAMERA! hell no, he would’ve been dead or close to it way before the cops arrived but i understand that the laws are different in california. I’m in texas and in our state the cops would probably be surprised to find the guy still breathing after all that lol like “Why didn’t you handle him?” now i gotta do even more paperwork.

  8. I feel like the officers discharge was a negligent one from flinching from getting hit with rocks. It sounds like it went off right when this guy threw the rocks and he flinched. I dont know though. Hope this guy gets the help for whatever is going on though. Hes obviously a little mental.
