Officer Michael Roberts – Portland Police Bureau
Officer Mike Roberts and Officer Sarah Kerwin stop a Nissan Pathfinder for traffic violations. The driver, a young, red-headed female, has no license and no insurance. Officer Roberts searches the vehicle and finds drug paraphernalia and a small amount of heroin. Officer Roberts explains to her that she is “circling the drain” and that he wants to see her make better decisions. Roberts shows the young female a blank key that he found in the vehicle and uses it as a metaphor. Officer Roberts explains how this key represents her life, that the key is blank and she can groove it however she wants. Officers Kerwin and Roberts decide to give her another chance and she is kicked loose.

A cop like him changed the whole corse of my life, I don’t think I’d be on this earth anymore if it wasn’t for cops like him.
This cop might be the only decent one. Every video I have seen with him, he seams to be cool…but maybe that’s just because the tv crew is with him, but since he gives people a chance, I’ll say maybe he is okay.
I didn't realize they had the option to wait to arrest for a felony… That's a great way to give her a chance for a relatively small slip-up to actually fix herself

The reason there are a overwhelming amount of overdoses is due to exactly what this officer and a lot of officers do .Make it as hard as you can on heroine users . Most likely this person went straight to the drug dealer and got more dope . If she was Brought in and put through the ringer she might actually get fed up and quit using dope . I don’t believe a word she said . I can say the reason I got clean was cause I was fed up with the lifestyle and mostly getting arrested . 1 year 8 months sober

I understand what he’s saying if there were no burglary tools in her car but the shaved keys definitely effect other peoples lives. She’s 100% stolen a car or broken into a car before.
