Little Rock, Arkansas — The Cammack Village Police Department released body and dash camera footage showing the arrest of an Arkansas man Sunday night who was charged after the department’s chief was struck with a baton and another officer was shot with a stun gun. The videos show an initial exchange between on-duty officer Joshua Blasingame and 35-year-old Dustin Arch Black of Big Flat at about 6 p.m. on May 8, 2022. The footage then depicts a struggle that starts as officer Joshua Blasingame and Chief Peter Powell attempts to detain Black. At one time during the fracas, Black yelled “Jesus Christ is our lord and savior” when a policeman was biting his fingers after he had shoved them in the policeman’s mouth. Black used a police baton to hit an officer in the head twice and caused another officer to shoot himself with a Taser when he pushed him.

According to a police report, Cammack Village Police Chief Peter Powell notified Blasingame that a suspicious person was walking barefoot. The man, later identified as Black, was placing caution cones in the middle of the road. Six additional Little Rock officers arrived on the scene and helped place Black in handcuffs. Chief Powell said he was transported by ambulance to a hospital where he was treated and released. Powell’s injuries were listed as abrasion wounds to both knees and the top of his feet. He received blunt trauma to his left eye and forehead area. Officer Blasingame listed his injuries as cuts on both knees and on his right elbow. Black is being held in the Pulaski County Jail on two counts of battery in the first degree and one count each of disorderly conduct and refusal to submit to arrest. His bond is set at $15,000

  1. How’d the Good Samaritan make out? Thought thumbs were going into his eyes at one point for sure- sure glad they didn’t but he was a force for “very good” here. Hopefully he gets a massive shout out.

  2. Regardless of the ineptitude of the officer, this is a classic example of the restrictions on cops. The Chokehold would have ended this engagement quickly. Now we see these endless wrestling matches that go on and on. Ask any athlete. Three minutes of intense wrestling is exhausting for anyone.

  3. description on this one is a massive lie and contradicts what's happening in the footage. they were crushing the mans windpipe with a steel torch, do these thick fools not learn from other's mistakes, again a massive joke if this is let slide and is considered acceptable 😔

  4. Did they search him before they threw him in the car? I've seen a lot of these videos, when the fights break out they get adrenaline rushed and forget the pat down, it can be a critical error.

  5. This cop reminds me of the character in the Denzel Washington movie "Man On Fire", where his dream is to lose weight and become a security guard at the home appliance store. At least that dude showed initiative. This guy's fitness could have cost him his life. Shame on the department's physical standards.

  6. Reminded me of the opening scenes of the movie, RAMBO. With an overwhelming number of cops arresting Rambo…just because they don't like the way that he looks.

  7. Why was the cop taking a donut break in his vehicle while random citizens were holding down his perp? 🤷🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️😂 Maybe hit the gym before you hit the road!
