Austin, Texas — At approximately 12:03 a.m., Austin 9-1-1 received a “Gun Hotshot†call in the area of 6300 E. U.S. 290 HWY Svrd WB. A motorist stated that they were being shot at by a pursuing vehicle. This caller also said that the suspect vehicle continued to follow and shoot, even as the driver was attempting to flee down various streets. At approximately 12:05 a.m. a two-officer APD unit observed a vehicle and made contact with the victim driver that had been shot at.
The victim was uninjured and provided officers with a description of the suspect’s vehicle and its last known direction of travel. Minutes later, the officers were traveling behind the suspect vehicle in the 6300 block of E. U.S. 290 Hwy Svrd WB and activated their emergency lights. As the officers stopped the suspect vehicle and exited their patrol vehicle, they immediately took gunfire from the suspect, later identified as 22-year-old Gregorio Sarmiento. The officers returned fire. During the exchange, one of the officers and the suspect were both struck. Officers immediately requested Austin-Travis County EMS on scene for medical assistance.

Texans basically don't care about being shot at anymore, they react with freezing calm.
That last shot was to make sure.
This is fucking insane! Officer get out of his car to a shooting at him man in the middle of a field! Balls of steel
I hate to say this, but any Texans living in that area need to get the fuck out of Austin. Its a city in late stage liberalism where laws only protect those with money, anarcho-tyranny. This man will probably be out of prison in 2 or 3 years, terrorizing citizens who just want to make a living. All while the rich and powerful residents of Austin post woke comments on twitter in their gated communities. Arm yourself and resist liberalism at all costs. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
Gregorio gunna get 100yrs in prison enjoy
Can't wait for a terrorist to blow up some cops tbh
Make a cool video and would satisfy my cop death porn
damn that one was a straight up battle. tons of lead flying both ways holy f*ck glad both the officers came out okay.
“Routine shootout turns into traffic stopâ€
Show Me Your F’Kn Hands Magazine June 2021 published a story by Journalist Eugene Tackleberry who wrote:
“Unnamed Sources have Reported that To keep morale up of Officers In lieu of the DFTP after Peaceful Rioters, Peaceful Vandals and Peaceful looters pillaged and destroyed property in major cities in 2020, that an Executive Order Was Quietly and Unceremoniously passed on Jan 19, 2021 at 11pm that allows for police officers who kill a suspect in a shoot out to personally keep the weapon as souvenirs, of which the dead suspect used against the police officer. Executive order : “10-99 Your Gun Is Now Mine†executive order, where a cop has a first dibs on all contraband of dead suspect shooters from a shoot out has been wink an nod to officers that if they want to keep a souvenir gun after as shoot out, it’s now their right as an officer who has been in the line of fire.â€
****DISCLAIMER:
That 1st dispatcher was a total moron
That was some amazing return fire!
This officer responds to getting shot in the foot like it's something that happens every week.
America: guy getting shot at randomly is cool AF. Cop took a round and dumped on the perp is cool AF. Just another shootout in Texas. The 911 caller probably went to Whole Foods after to shop and the wounded cop was probably deep into a conversation with his wife from the hospital when he finally says "oh I just got shot so I'll be home a little later babe".
Yeah this dude shot at me, so now I'm following him. Seemed like the logical thing to do really.
Police do what the have to do. Nothing wrong in this police stop except a driver intent upon harming officers.
Caller sounds like an idiot. Nobody can answer a direct question. I swear. Someone could ask another if it’s raining outside and the answer you get in return is… seven. Unbelievable anymore
Riordan should've never left the cover of his vehicle while taking fire. Kudos to both of them for staying calm though.
Guy thought this was modern warfare tryin to duel wield
Damn! These officers are straight badasses! So calm. 🤯
all those bullets for that man to go to jail for one footshot and take a mag to the chest.
Well they solved his anger issues
What’s up with these 1990 dash cams?
…calling 911 for mental health services.
am i the only one who heard the pole next to the first officer get hit? 4:01
So calm on the radio after being shot at. Amazing.
So professional, even the fella that called it in. Ice-cold.
Good thing that guy was an absolute terrible shot … both of those officers could have been in trouble! Glad everything worked out
This is. Texas. Come to Florida where. Cops see the goofy and run up on him
American "cops" really need more target practice
"This guy shot at me *but I'm not the one dying today*"
He thought he was playing gta
The only fatal shot was the one to the dick.
Officer King had a day off I guess, so Officer Kong was without his usual partner
Very good job police
There should not be a bond at all. These charges are to egregious for a bond.
The criminal is charged with two counts of attempted capital murder, with video of him getting out and shooting at police without any provocation, and they still set a bond? WTF?
I think you have to be stupid to be a 911 operator.
