Farmington, Utah — On March 1, 2023, at approximately 3:22pm, a Farmington Police officer attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle which had an illegitimate license plate. The driver of the vehicle pulled into a parking stall at the US Post Office located at 145 East State Street. Body-worn camera shows that the driver rolled the window of the vehicle down only a few inches and refused to provide identification or cooperate with the officer in any way. The driver asserted his independence from the laws of the land as well as his belief that he was not required to provide information to the officer, nor was he required to cooperate. The initial officer called for assistance and continued efforts to provide the driver with information and options, but to no avail. A supervisor, and two officers, one with a trainee assigned to him, responded to assist. The driver was ultimately identified as 25-year-old Chase Allan.

Officers exhausted multiple further attempts to persuade Allan to cooperate and ordered him to exit the vehicle. When Allan still refused to exit the vehicle, an officer opened the door to the car and another officer attempted to remove Allan from the vehicle. At that time an observing officer yelled out the words “gun, gun, gun!” A struggle, which appeared to last only seconds, ensued and gun shots could be heard. Officers secured Allan and began rendering aid to him. A holster was found on Allan’s right hip, as well as a gun on the floor of the driver side of the car. Allan was taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead. Police have not alleged Allan fired a gun during the confrontation. Allan’s family has sharply criticized the department and alleged their loved one died in a “brutal murder” while Allan sat in his car “likely terrified,” according to reports. Allan’s relatives also claimed the police were “stonewalling” them and didn’t notify them of Chase’s death, they reportedly found out through the media.

  1. I don't understand how "Self defense" or protecting yourself as an Officer is unloading so many rounds into a person. That kid was a pain in the ass, and deserved to be dealt with, but not executed in such a cold blooded way. I'm in disbelief.

  2. We don’t have the full details. At best this is an uncooperative citizen who was lawfully in possession of a firearm. The cops got nervous and killed him. There’s no video and police won’t say if he pointed if touched it. Having a gun in your procession during a traffic stop isn’t an automatic warrant for a police shooting. Unfortunately I’m not sure this justified deadly force.

  3. "If you try to force me we're gonna have an issue" He knew what he was doing and he got what he wanted. His family may call it a brutal murder but the video reveals that this guy simply chose to die for a mislead belief about the law rather than accept that he was wrong.

  4. He was a sovereign citizen in possession of a firearm who refused to Comply. He made that call. It only takes a split second whether an Officer dies or go home to his family.

  5. Allan’s family has sharply criticized the department and alleged their loved one died in a “brutal murder” while Allan sat in his car “likely terrified,” according to reports.

Idunno man he seems pretty confident in spewing his sovereign citizen BS. Seems like the entire family tree here is pretty rotten.

  6. I would say kinda "entitled"? Or maybe a little too much cannabis? Bad decision on his part, all around.

  7. I feel like sovereign citizens can make their case with police interactions however i will not support what he did. Trying to pull a gun out on officers who were respectful at all times is just unacceptable

  8. I'm sorry for this unfortunate & sad outcome.

My sincere condolences to this young man's family & friends. Prayers & blessings over this man's soul. R.I. P.

  9. 8:55 That officer's reaction to everything was perfect. The draw, press to target, clearing the jam, all perfect. He was ready for the job.

  10. Isn't it wild that he could've own that gun legally and just because it was close to him, they killed him. he never reached for it, he never fired it. The poorly trained police officers got spooked and just started screaming "gun" and murdered this guy.

  11. I'm as opposed to much of what our governments are doing to us as most people… But these people that literally have been convinced that they are above the law and want complete anarchy are a danger to all of us. But most of all themselves. The brainwashing was strong with this one. Whoever is messing up their minds like this, should be held accountable some day.

  12. Sovcit. 🤦‍♂️ Honestly the stupidest people in America right now. Why is it so difficult to have proper identification and registration?

  13. A sovereign citizen that isn't bound to the laws of the land. However he conveniently has an SSN which means he probably has a job and probably has to use ID to buy his car and ID for his cell phone and even has to go through an FBI background check to buy the handgun that fits into that holster we see on the right side of his hip when they pull him out.
