Officer Jaramillo of the Colton Police Department is dispatched to a suspicious person sitting in a car. When she arrives the car slowly starts to take off, but then stops seconds later. The man says he was just getting things ready before he went to his house, which is four houses down from where he was originally parked. After talking to the man he says he has a heroin problem. Officer Jaramillo finds a used needle in the man’s car along with unused needles. Officer Jaramillo tells the man that he is going to be cited and released. The man says he wants to go to jail to get clean. Officer Jaramillo has to explain that due to Covid-19, the jail is not accepting arrest for this level of crime.

This man knows he's going to die and with insurance many people can't get help. As usual another broken system. I'm grateful, I got help and have 4 years clean. It is up to yiu, you have to want it. But she makes it seem.like it's so easy when it's so hard and it's an insidious disease. And not everyone wants to get hooked on methadone especially when the side effects can be nodding off all day and weight gain and the withdrawals can be worse in my opinion than heroin! Police need to be better educated on this, though most are really good about it. She needs to be.

I'm going to rehab at the end if the month for alcoholism. I hope this man either got or eventually gets the help he needs. I also hope this officer never has to encounter addiction in her personal life. I don't think that she could handle it.
Sympathy 4 the guy. Witness his 2 gf died overdose. Tried so hard 2 get clean. He wanted some1 2 help him. Difficult if u became an addict 2 get clean. When u get clean, suddenly people from ur past, drug dealer offered u drug 4 free. Then u fall again. Wish some1 could help him. Not talk bs, cause I m 1 of them who won the battle.

The longest my daughter was clean was when she was incarcerated.
After a 20 years battle, she finally got clean 6 months before she passed away. The toxicology report showed only prescribed medications (many of them), the diagnosis was that after 20 years of abusing her small frame, her body just finally gave up fighting. She died May 25 2019.
I miss her every day.
We will lock folks up for being a user… (the drugs get them locked up)… and we offer nothing of true relevance to help them get clean. It’s a racket.
