Chicago, Illinois — On February 13, 2023, Chicago police officers conducted a street stop near 2100 South St. Louis. Two officers were on routine patrol when they observed a doubled park vehicle, with a group of individuals surrounding the vehicle. One of the officers exited their vehicle and approached one of the individuals, who they suspected of concealing a weapon. The individual fled, followed by one of the officers, through a park and southbound down an alley. The second officer exited the vehicle in pursuit of the individual, southbound on St. Louis. As the individual approached, one officer retrieved his weapon from his holster and fired once, striking the individual in the chest. Officers immediately rendered aid before the man was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition. Chicago Fire Department officials said he was in his 20s. A weapon was recovered on scene.

2 ) Officer was professional after the fact. thats real control.
3 ) officer that was firing. was at least in control of emotions and did his job without mag dumping. that takes a ton of control.

So there’s a problem that needs fixing, and it’s this idea that no black person ever did anything to get shot. Dude had a gun and was fleeing from police. Bystanders need to stay outmof it and get facts before they start freaking out. People need to make better decisions and maybe they won’t find themselves in these situations

You always get these troublemakers running up to the scene making presumptuous claims the person was shot for no reason or that they aren't armed. How about, don't run from the police like you are a criminal? Ever think of that, genius? And then you have a woman that comes right out of thin air and starts screaming, so I'm guessing she knows the person.
I am concerned though with the vague statement in the details "A weapon was recovered on scene". That could be anything from a boxcutter to a bazooka. Still, no DA anywhere will rule this as unjustified when most guns are also black, even if the suspect was carrying a dildo for a weapon.
