Boise, Idaho — 26-year-old Ezra Smith was sentenced to prison for several felonies related to an incident where he used a stolen van to ram Boise Police patrol vehicles and threaten law enforcement. The Ada County District Judge Derrick O’Neill sentenced Smith to serve 25 years in prison, with 10 years fixed before he is eligible for parole. In July 2021, witnesses reported a man driving a van recklessly. Law enforcement spotted the van and learned it was reported as stolen. When Boise Police tried to contact the van’s driver, Smith eluded law enforcement and repeatedly rammed an occupied Boise Police patrol vehicle. He used the same van to threaten a different Boise Police Officer.
The event ended in an officer-involved shooting where law enforcement ultimately apprehended the defendant. One officer fired his gun four times, while the other fired his gun six times. Smith was hit with six of the bullets. In a tort claim, Smith said that he suffered multiple face and body fractures and permanent nerve damage, which resulted in loss of sensation in the right side of his face and neck. He also has post-traumatic stress disorder, night terrors and anxiety, he said. Smith filed a $1.27 million claim against BPD alleging excessive force. The claim states the police allegedly shot at him while unarmed. The Valley County prosecutor later determined the officers who shot Smith were justified in their actions.
In March 2022, a jury convicted Smith of aggravated battery upon certain law enforcement personnel, aggravated assault upon certain law enforcement personnel, and found that he had used a deadly weapon in the commission of those crimes. Smith had entered guilty pleas prior to trial to the felony crimes of grand theft, eluding a police officer in a motor vehicle, driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance, and the misdemeanor crime of attempted petit theft. All those crimes were charged in relation to this case. Smith has an extensive criminal history, and was on felony probation at the time of his arrest in these charges for the felony crimes of delivery a controlled substance and malicious injury to property.

No Officers were in imminent danger though, these niggas jus be shooting people cus they feel like it.
Bigger calibre bullets ? Well there has to be a solution suggested on here.
And this is why police departments create ridiculous policies because of OIS’ like this
🫡
Unfortunately for these 2 cops, this shooting won't be justified when it comes time for a civil suit. Police really need to learn when they can and can't use deadly force. Seriously
What color is the perp?
I would say he was probably another Californian moving into this beautiful state and living the same way as they did in La La Land.
Unfortunately the guy survived
Surprised he lived through all the shooting
I am not anti police but they pushed him into parked cars then winged bad shots into those civilian's garage!
Not the best policing, I get no one wants to be ran over in this case I feel they had other options then shooting!
They are shooting people for less and less and less! Unless your a man with his own gun then they hide and wait. No one’s life was in eminent danger. You dress for war everyday eventually you will find your enemy’s. Protect and serve? Should be shoot to kill
"Smith has a extensive criminal history"
Such a good citizien… LOL
You found our rental van and did what!?
Why does it take hot lead piercing you for people to comply.
😂😂
Well first of all that was reckless on these police officers for pushing that van into somebody’s house if that was my house and they hit it oh yeah they would get their butt kicked you’re not post to damage private property
These guys certainly aren't in fear for their lives; like many police, they wait for things to escalate just enough to where they can at least convince 'back the blue' and 'thin-blue liners' that it got too dangerous for their own, personal officer-safety and had no choice but to shoot to kill… (They're 💯 NOT trained to EVER try to merely injure with their weapons.)
Good job
What am absolute WONDER guns are huh? That man went from "Fuck yall im getting away" to "no no no no please sorry ill stop why did you do that"
Hope he paid the $19.95 to rent the U-Haul van, at least.
At least we can enjoy the fact some hot led helped.
Probably one of the illegal immigrants that hang out outside of the Uhaul stores.
Long story short, he got shot, he lived and sued the police for excessive force.
Idaho ain't no place to expect bleeding heart justice.
Commit your crimes elsewhere, Smitty.
I mostly feel bad for the homeowner. He's the one left to pick up the pieces and repair the damage. They won't see a dime of that restitution.
Only 2 things wrong with this video… no screaming woman and Ezra is still wasting the Planets oxygen
He's wrong he was armed.
Armed with a 5,000 pound torpedo.
So lucky to be alive
"mith filed a $1.27 million claim against BPD alleging excessive force. The claim states the police allegedly shot at him while unarmed."â†The car itself id being used as a weapon, they are justified in shooting.
"Smith said that he suffered multiple face and body fractures and permanent nerve damage, which resulted in loss of sensation in the right side of his face and neck. He also has post-traumatic stress disorder, night terrors and anxiety, he said."â†Maybe avoid being a POS violent criminal so you won't end up in a situation here you suffer all those things because of YOUR OWN ACTIONS?
Shame this guy didn't took the room temperature challenge, hope he spend the rest of his miserable life in prison.
