Police released dashcam video after an armed man was fatally shot by police Sunday in Wedgwood. Seattle police said two officers were investigating a suspicious car in the 2200 block of NE 85th Street when they encountered the man who was “clearly armed” and refused their commands. Police say the man died Sunday night at Harborview Medical Center. He has been identified as 46-year-old Che Taylor. Police say he is a convicted violent felon whose criminal history includes convictions for assault, robbery and rape. Detectives say Taylor stood at the passenger door of a white Ford Taurus as a marked patrol car pulled up.

Officers can be seen approaching the car asking Taylor to show his hands and get on the ground. Officers and a witness say Taylor reached for his handgun before officers fired. Detectives recovered Taylor’s handgun. They said he was also in possession of what appeared to be cocaine and black tar heroin. Two other people were taken into custody. One of them was booked into King County Jail for possession of a “significant” quantity of heroin. The two officers involved in the shooting are on paid leave. Authorities are still investigating.

  1. He lived by the sword and died by the sword. Glad taxpayers won't be paying to keep him alive anymore.

  2. Today that biker would be a George Floyd hero. Too bad that was not the raw feed showing exactly how fast the officer had to go to catch him

  3. With so many guns in such easy reach of nearly everyone, why is there any doubt about police regularly using deadly force!

  4. Well, we know that if you want to get shot by a cop all you have to do is crawl into your car and start digging around after they tell you to keep your hands up and not move.

  5. This hurts because I knew him. He was nicknamed hunter and we would always ask me about football and how I’m doing in school. Yes he did do somethings in his life that were terrible. I met him while I was visiting my old stepdad who was in the Monroe prison. My mom told me that once he gets out he will either die from gang activity or get shot to death by he police. Well we know which one it was.

  6. the military and the police know that if someone does not make a move, it means he wants to kill you. You will not kill him, he will kill you and do not be surprised by the police reaction that he shoots. because everyone who wants can have a weapon with you. In my country, this is not because they do not have people accessing the weapon, and anyone who wants to own it must meet the right conditions and it is good, because although there are not so many people from weapons.

  7. I'm from Seattle and I remember when this happened. The Che Taylor case. They said he was reaching for his concealed pistol and that's when they shot him. There were some BLM protests after I think.
