Motorcycle vs cops: Oregon police chase results in payout to biker. A jury awarded a Eugene man after he was kicked by an Oregon State Police captain during a 2012 traffic stop. The Register-Guard reported that Capt. Rob Edwards testified in U.S. District Court in Eugene as part of a civil trial that his force was in line with state police policies.

Edwards was accused of using excessive force against Justin Wilkens, whose collarbone was broken when Edwards took him into custody Aug. 3, 2012, after chasing down the speeding rider. The jury claimed Edwards violated Wilkens’ civil rights. Wilkens says he did not recognize Edwards’ unmarked car as a police vehicle. Wilkens sued Edwards for alleged civil rights violations and sought unspecified noneconomic damages in addition to more than in reimbursement for medical and motorcycle towing and repair bills.

  1. Wow Oregon is absolutely beautiful I’ve lived in NYC my whole life I wish I was born in some farm somewhere in the country so bad that looking like what living really should be like and it’s crazy because I’m pretty sure if you ask them they’ll say they rather live in some big ol fancy city smh we all want what we don’t have

  2. Honestly when you’re riding sometimes you’re not aware of what going on behind you sure you check the mirrors but only for a split second there’s so much going on that your attention should be in front of you.
Completely understand the cops point of view though. I’d be pretty pissed after a long chase too although only one party new they were in a chase.
    Good video 😂👌

  3. Don’t run from the cops if they have to chase after you more than likely you’re gonna receive an ass whipping

  4. This is horseshit. The officer is totally justified to use that level of force. The perp got some $$, now we'll wait for karma to catch up with him.

  5. Let us pay the lawbreakers. What a low standard society. And the cops have to deal with this decaying mindset, day in and day out

  6. Unmarked cars aren’t police. They’re criminal.

If you’re police, it needs to be labeled. Same with plainclothes. Hell naw, anyone can get a badge.

  7. 3:50 This rider picked the wrong cop to run from as you can see from his cliche flat-top and NON-standard gun holding. He is angry and is far from a professional, as it appears he took this whole thing personally. This kind of cop is not the one you want to engage with. Ever.
