Castle Rock, Colorado — On October 11, 2023, at 5:00 a.m., Thornton Police Department Officers attempted to contact a suspicious, possibly stolen vehicle when the driver took off. The suspects then fired upon the officers at least twice. The pursuit continued into Douglas County, where Sheriff’s Office deputies took over around County Line Road and I-25. The driver, 33-year-old Kyle Williamson failed to pull over and continued to drive in a reckless manner swerving toward a Douglas County Sheriff’s Office deputy’s patrol car before getting off at exit 182/Wolfensberger Rd. in Castle Rock. Williamson continued west and then turned south on Plum Creek Pkwy. Deputies deployed stop sticks, which were successful. Williamson also swerved towards the deputy as he was setting out the stop sticks.

As Williamson continued on Plum Creek Pkwy, he intentionally crashed into the front of the 7-11 store, which is just east of Wilcox St. There was a clerk and a customer inside the store. Both were unharmed. When deputies converged on the suspect car, Williamson pointed a gun at deputies and refused commands to put the weapon down. The deputies fired on Williamson, hitting him several times but survived. Williamson’s wife, 37-year-old Hannah Woolard, was taken into custody, she was not injured. No deputies were injured. Woolard pleaded guilty earlier this year to being an accessory to a crime and was sentenced on Aug. 5 to three years in community corrections. On Friday, Williamson received a 16-year sentence for each count of first-degree assault, for a total of 64 years. He was also ordered to serve three years of parole. The dog named ‘Major’ is back with his family now after he was stolen by Williamson seven months prior to this incident.

The story of how the dog was found and reunited with his owner, reported by the local Denver CBS station: https://www.cbsnews.com/colorado/news/stolen-dog-found-police-chase-colorado-reunited-owner-7-months/

  2. What was the discussion in the cab of that truck prior to going through the front door of the gas station? “Right, I’m going to crash us into the gas station, and then we’ll hide out in there.”

  3. 64 years sentence plus 3 years parole. imagine if the judge was a savage and started with 3 years parole then topped it off with 64 years after.
