Flagler County, Florida — On January 4, 2025, just before midnight, Deputy Christopher Murphy was conducting patrols in the W-Section of Palm Coast when he observed a male, later identified as 38-year-old Michael McDermott, on the sidewalk alongside Pine Lakes Parkway standing next to a bicycle on the ground. Deputy Murphy attempted contact with McDermott, but McDermott picked up the bike and began to ride away. Deputy Murphy activated his emergency lights and attempted a traffic stop on McDermott. McDermott appeared to comply, slowing down enough for Deputy Murphy to stop and exit his car, only to then pedal quickly away, turning onto Westminster Drive.
Deputy Murphy got back into his patrol vehicle and attempted to catch up with McDermott. As Deputy Murphy turned onto Westminster Drive, he observed McDermott pulling a firearm out of his pants. Deputy Murphy, fearing that McDermott would engage him with the firearm, struck McDermott with his vehicle, ejecting him from the bicycle and causing him to drop the firearm. Deputy Murphy then secured McDermott without further incident with the assistance of Deputy Michael Anderson, who had arrived as backup within seconds of the incident.
A 9-millimeter Ruger firearm was recovered near McDermott, who was found wearing a holster for the weapon. McDermott was arrested for Assault or Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, Fleeing and Eluding, Resisting an Officer with Violence, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. He was transported to AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway due to a minor injury to his right ankle. After being treated and released, he was taken to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility. McDermott has an extensive arrest history in Flagler County since 2013 and prior to his arrest had been released from the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility on December 17, 2024, after serving a 90-day sentence for Possession of Fentanyl.

Hahahahaha
The song inspired maneuver
you've heard of "stop and frisk" and didn't like it. now we're ramming people under suspicion without real cause. I don't think this person should have even been confronted but if you insist on being that kind of dick, don't make shit up too. after getting rammed by a car and laying without resistance in the bush, he was charged with assault on a LEO.
Girls just wanna have fun
😂😂😂
Hahahaha😂😂😂😂😂
another overgrown infant ..
If you are one of those people that has to say "bro" ten times in every sentence, then please, get help. Please, for your own good and the good of others. I don't know if there's any other way of sounding so unintelligent.
I bro hvnt bro dun bro ntn bro bro bro.
If you truly did nothing wrong then How about not fleeing and see what the officer has to say or ask? Oh, you’re a prohibited possessor with gun. Now your actions make a lot of sense. 😂😂
Interesting choice of music
That cop wasn't messing around. He just wanted to have fun
Where was Cindy lauper coming from
I’m not your Bro , punk .🤡
The use of deadly force to stop a deadly threat can come from any source
unless riding a bike is a crime this whole arrest should be thrown out… 🤥
Amazing how many people say "I didn't do nuthin" as is any cop is going to say, "Oh well, if you say you didn't do nothing then off you go!"
american cops..
“I didn’t do anything”
Literally commits a felony within the first 15 seconds of interacting with police..
What was the PC for the original stop? The incident description doesn't say. In fact, it indicates there was no probable cause and that the initial contract was consensual, meaning the subject was at liberty to leave the encounter without being pursued. If that is the case, any evidence of a crime after that point is tainted. "Fruit of the poisonous tree," in legalese.
Officer2 looks like Chuck Norris! 🙂
Attempted murder with a vehicle, open and closed case. 2$ Million lawsuit
He was a dope peddler🤣🤣
Only a tweek would.pull a gun in an officer and then say WTF after earning BEING a good ornament…😂
That's all Meth'd up…….
Trust me, search "Girls just wanna Dance with Somebody" to find an awesome remix cover group.
