The transition back to civilian life is tough for a lot if your heads not screwed on tight. He used the word institutionalized and I think that is a perfect description. I chose Law Enforcement because it’s para-military and made it a bit easier for me to adjust.
Got out this past January. Luckily I had a plan and started preparing for a civilian career 7 months before I got out because I had a family to take care of. Got a letter the day after I got out saying I was hired for a major metro police department. Had 41 days to relax before the academy began, been here since. Keep your head down and push forward! S/F
