There is a saying that when you become a cop you lose the right to be out of shape. Sadly, many cops do not live by that standard. One study conducted by the American Journal of Preventive Medicine concluded that 40.7% of police, firefighters, and security guards are obese. In the end, the percentages are higher than the rest of the country.
Fitness doesn’t have to be complicated, however. We talk with Pat Flynn who demystifies and simplifies fitness as a fitness minimalist.

Just a big fat comment for the old algorithm.
Hey Mike, I'm good friends with Pat. He introduced me to kettlebells. I've also been a police officer for 23 years. Staying in shape and physically able to do my job is very important to me. I enjoyed listening.
Out of shape Police Officers is not only in the US a Problem. I work in a LE Agency in Switzerland, the 40% mark obeasty sounds quite accurate for here aswell. Outside of special rolls we have no more fitness tests after recruting.
This is an importend Issue which is beeing ignored by leadership.
Thanks for bringing it up, keep up the good work.
Really good video guys. I’m 49 just getting into law enforcement. But the sense of self care is important. I’m eating this stuff up.
