In this Real World Police exclusive we travel to Garden City, Georgia where Volusia County Sheriff’s Office Detective Brandon Cobb was on vacation visiting friends one year ago in January, 2019. The detective and his friends had gone out for drinks and Detective Cobb had agreed to serve as the designated driver for the group — which apparently meant that he only had a few drinks.*

Watch as a no-nonsense Garden City lieutenant stops Brandon Cobb for driving all over the road. By the end of the call, Cobb is sitting on the wrong side of the partition.

Brandon Cobb’s criminal prosecution is still open, with the next hearing scheduled for April 1, 2020 in Chatham County State Court. Brandon Michael Cobb faces one count of failure to maintain lane, one count of impeding traffic flow. and one count of driving under the influence. Cobb has prior disciplinary history with VCSO; the internal affairs files can be found at https://tiny.cc/cobbdiscipline

  1. Whats bad is you know when these police don't even have enough respect for other police anyone what hope do us normal people have. Anyone who gets pulled over and has had anything to drink no matter how small will be going to jail. Just make alcohol illegal again and call it a day instead of allowing people to go out drinking and ruining their lives over something that is legal to do. At least increase the legal limit.

  2. The suspect refuses to submit to a breath test after he's already undertaken a breath test. I'm confused.

  3. "Missed heel to toe 7th step walking out" "incorrect turn, failed to keep lead foot planted" wtf? Everything else is good but a gap, and failure to know about face gets an arrest now? Which that instruction was stupid to begin with, 99% of officers tell you to "take a series of small steps to turn around", which considering this guys a cop, its probably what he knows. Im glad this guy wasnt charged, he was fine and the arresting officer needs a performance evaluation.

  4. Can anyone explain why it was important for that car to be moved but it was fine to leave a different car in the same place? If I were the person picking them up I wouldn’t be very pleased with that little surprise.

  5. He didn't know enough to envoke the 5th? They didn't inform him to the whole out of state driver's license loopholes? And then he blow I can't feel bad for him because he lacks smarts

  6. This Georgia cop is a major tool box. locking up another cop who appeared more sober then him. I'm sure the nice detective had some explaining for this. Very unnecessary some guys just shouldn't be cops.

  7. a bs arrest , the arresting officer sounds like the drunk one here , mouth full of marbles . The assisting officer , well it is clear that agency has no physical standards !

  8. It's like a rigged carnival game they only do 3 steps and ask for 10 if the arresting officer stepped the full 10 steps like they ask they would stumble too 9 outta ten times

  9. i'm a demenstate this machine you blow it like this……………….beep damn, if you're drunker than this your going in

  10. We weren’t there. Even the guy taking the tests said he didn’t know how the FST’s would go. He probably smelled like a brewery. Some people do really well … but their BAC ? not so much. And that lieutenant giving those tests is an expert and sees things most people don’t. He even said I don’t know if I can drive right before PBT.

  11. Read all the comments about the arresting Cop slurring and being hard to understand. That NEVER crossed my mind and I understood every word. I did have a hard time understanding the detective though. Quiz: Am I from the north or south? PS: rhetorical
