Miami-Dade County, Florida — On May 9, 2024, Melina Logan, a 27-year-old from North Carolina, took a 2024 Honda Civic for a test drive from a South Miami dealership and never returned. The Florida Highway Patrol and Miami-Dade Police pursued Logan as she sped through the Palmetto Expressway, reaching speeds of 90 mph and driving recklessly. Dash cam footage shows her aggressive maneuvers and the chaos she caused, including multiple hit-and-run crashes. The chase reached its climax near the Northwest 25th Street off-ramp, where Logan crashed into several vehicles, leaving her car disabled and pinned against a concrete wall.

But Logan wasn’t done yet, she jumped out of the car, climbed a concrete ledge, and dove into a nearby pond in a desperate attempt to escape. Despite refusing ropes thrown by officers, Logan was eventually rescued and arrested after a struggle in the water. Logan now faces multiple charges, including grand theft of a vehicle, two counts of battery on a police officer, fleeing and eluding police, leaving the scene of a crash, and resisting an officer. One of the victims of her reckless driving was hospitalized due to injuries from the crash.

  2. Police Officers are "damned if they do damned if they don't. All who are complaining would be the first to yell "where are cops" if they hadn't tried to stop her.🤔 You can't have it both ways.

  3. Majority of people are nice, hard working and tax paying citizens and i'll never understand why all these normal people don't demand laws which would throw someone like her 50 years either in prison or an insane asylum.

  4. Please don't hate me but I am naïve but curious, do the police pursue everything? In some instances, hardly seems worth it. The damage to atleast 2 police cars, guardrails, other peoples vehicles and the new car plus risk of hitting and injuring someone and at rush hour at that. To test drive a car, you have to give your driver's license and insurance so it would be easy to find her.

  5. She was test driving a car from a dealership? I know buying a car can be stressful but this is way over the top. Maybe she couldn’t get financed?

  6. I knew immediately this was in Miami because none of the drivers were paying enough attention to move out of the way for the police. The roadsigns just confirmed it

  7. The amount of people on this thread more concerned wit the fact the officer swipped a few cars dueing the pursuit is unreal.. you peolle are pathetic and prove just how sheltered your lives are if thats what you stopping to comment on…

  8. The cops should never have chased her.
First, the dealership has all rhe facts on the car. They probably also have a tracker attached to the car, so the cops can nab her at any time. The dealer also has a photo of her license!
All this damage will run into many thousands, all to catch one person who is known!
Amazing the police department pulled this ridiculous stunt.
