Officer Charles Broussard of the Lafayette Police Department pursues a car after failing to make a left turn when the light appeared green. The man is questioned and searched and is found to be driving with a suspended license. Officer Broussard asks the suspect if he is under the influence of any substance and the man claims to have only been drinking an energy drink. He later admits to taking an illegal substance. The suspect is arrested for possession of an illicit drug.

Why is it that the real young cops are mostly pricks??? Boy, they have attitude. If I ever get pulled over I hope it's a veteran cop that stops me. They are laid back.

I don't care that he only took one pill. A DUI is a DUI and is a serious crime.
I do, however, care about the fact that the cops mislead him into thinking he would get help with his problem if he confessed and took him to jail instead. That is not building trust in police nor is it actually helping this person become a better citizen. They wasted all that taxpayer money putting this man into the system and he probably won't change. And yes, the cops may have had no other way to take an intoxicated driver away from the road; I wouldn't blame them if that's the case. But it's still messed up.
Kinda messed up, I believe the dude. Had he remembered he had that I’m sure he would have popped it when they pulled him over . Not like he has to destroy a kilo he just had one at most 10mg lortab..looked like it might be a 7.5 so I’m sure he would have swallowed that thing to avoid arrest had he remembered it was even in his possession
