On the night of January 22, 2018 an Ohio man attempted to steal a large television from the Westerville, Ohio Kohl’s store — it didn’t go well.
On his way out of the store the would-be-thief was confronted by a security guard, and a physical altercation followed. The man narrowly escaped, dropping the television and taking off running.
Unfortunately for him, Westerville police officers apparently weren’t up to much that night, and law enforcement promptly set up a perimeter and began a systematic search for the man. Although the odds were stacked heavily against the now-thief-assailant, darkness had fallen and the man on the run was not immediately found.
The police are not fond of leaving the odds stacked against them, though, and in this case the State Police came in to assist, tilting the odds right back in their favor as Ohio State Highway Patrol’s aviation unit responded to assist — equipped with a high-end thermal camera that made swift work of finding the perp.

Dude no lie the opening looked like the cod4 mission.
Technology these days like
How do I get an ir camera this strong?
I like how everything in night vision looks like an untextured video game.
GTA 5? Anyone??
Another dirtbag bites the dust.
Damn this FLIR is cool, I noticed the street lights were hotspots and who would’ve guessed? It’s 9pm in the video
Is this inverted?
Definitely not that guys debut with PD.
ArmA III pro players needed!
Westerville don't play anymore after those 2 cops got shot and killed. Glad they got him without indecent.
you lose bitch
That perp will remember every Super Bowl from now on! Maybe why he was stealing the TV!
That's insane!
AND…. That is how you almost get shot… But NOT… Good job….
Great stuff. I remember when we 1st got this technology. Works wonders. I have a video on it I'm getting ready to post.
All for the sake of a television. Hmmm. Wonder what they would do with a murder suspect? Call in the national guard?
when stealing a TV gets you 3 stars
3:08 it starts
Crime doesn't pay.
That was cool thanks RWP
"AC130 is in the air"
This guy evades the copes like Renfield avoids being followed in Dracula: Dead and Loving It
FLIR makes it look like a video game. 🙂
All air units should have FLIR, it makes finding the bad guy an almost mindlessly easy task.
Technology. Great when it works. Not so good for the criminal element. lol! One less thief/leach on society. A TV. Really? I could understand if it was food..even clothes but a TV? Unbeleivable what people will risk their freedom and their very lives on.
I heart FLIR footage
Suspect spotted at 4:03
Quality footage RWP! I like the hot = black variation of FLIR. (Does anyone know if that’s just a setting in software?)
