Helicopter FLIR Footage Shows Capture of Robbery Suspect – Everything Law and Order Blog

On the night of January 22, 2018 an Ohio man attempted to steal a large television from the Westerville, Ohio Kohl’s store — it didn’t go well.

On his way out of the store the would-be-thief was confronted by a security guard, and a physical altercation followed. The man narrowly escaped, dropping the television and taking off running.

Unfortunately for him, Westerville police officers apparently weren’t up to much that night, and law enforcement promptly set up a perimeter and began a systematic search for the man. Although the odds were stacked heavily against the now-thief-assailant, darkness had fallen and the man on the run was not immediately found.

The police are not fond of leaving the odds stacked against them, though, and in this case the State Police came in to assist, tilting the odds right back in their favor as Ohio State Highway Patrol’s aviation unit responded to assist — equipped with a high-end thermal camera that made swift work of finding the perp.

  1. Damn this FLIR is cool, I noticed the street lights were hotspots and who would’ve guessed? It’s 9pm in the video

  2. Westerville don't play anymore after those 2 cops got shot and killed. Glad they got him without indecent.

  3. Technology. Great when it works. Not so good for the criminal element. lol! One less thief/leach on society. A TV. Really? I could understand if it was food..even clothes but a TV? Unbeleivable what people will risk their freedom and their very lives on.
