Early in May of 2020, Albuquerque resident Jose Nuñez Romaniz was headed to the bank to deposit some money so he could buy some socks online for his grandfather. Jose came upon a large clear plastic bag filled with cash next to the A.T.M. machine.
Romaniz called Albuquerque Police Department to come investigate the bag of money he found. The money was unmarked that he could tell and was left in plain sight on the side of an ATM machine. It was apparently left by a Wells Fargo contractor who was supposed to put the money in the ATM. Police took custody of the cash totaling $135,000.
Romaniz was given a plaque, gift cards, sports gear and even a $500 scholarship from a local electric company at a formal ceremony with City of Albuquerque and local business leaders.
Romaniz has a desire to become a police officer one day and did the right thing.

If the money belonged to an individual person return it.. but Wells Fargo messed up?? That 135K is insured bruh what the fuckkkk
Fuck that. That would’ve been my little secret
Why don’t you bless me like this god I did you right
What an upstanding young man. Incredible integrity.
Bank should have given him at least 10% of that towards a scholarship.
A very young man, but as for the wells fargo contractor SHAME ON YOU, you are so cheap
The ending was the best he is right she did raise a good son and the cop is great with his siblings
I love the energy on this call! Not a typical call for LEO’s. So awesome 😎 great kid!!! The atm employee most likely 86’d. How in the world did he forget that much cash!
It's an example that not all our ppl are criminals like Trump has said it in the past it make me proud to be mexican and that there's young boys outhere that still have respect and had raised by there parents good and also that's how lil kids should see police officers exited and with admired even if it's just because of the 🚔 unit … but it's sad that now in days some kids are scared of police all because the fuckn stupid ass media that always put them as the bad guys and that's sad because kids are growing seen all that around that's what makes me mad at the fukn media news and sad for our future generations seeing that when it's all fake and garbage politics but GOD BLESS ALL OF US AND GOD BLESS ALL AMERICAN (CONTINENT)
What an honest young man! The children at end was the cherry on the cake! 😢
This kid is so idiotic you have no idea how much that money will matter until you get older
A lot are two words. Not one.
Wow. Now that is a well raised young man. That's LIFE CHANGING money he found and he turned it in.
S T U P I D 1000
What a great family, good job parents!
Unbelievable what a lovely genuine guy his parents should be so proud raising such a honest guy
actually dumb. the money was probably insured anyways. smh
What shady business was going on that the cop needed to warn his cohorts that he had his cam on……
I'm surprised the cops didn't pocket it. They only do that with citizens cash I suppose, not the banks.
The thing is if he did not return it they would have found him BC there are cameras at atm's then he prob would have been arrested for theft
You actually want an ID from him after he turns and all that money you've got to be kidding me I wouldn't even ask for an ID starsky and hutch wouldn't we need to go back to the '70s
