Houston, Texas — The Houston Police Department released bodycam video of a deadly officer-involved shooting that happened on April 9 in northwest Houston. Police said the suspect, identified as 48-year-old Richard Nichols, was trespassing at a business harassing people before officers were called to the scene. Officers obtained Nichols’ description and learned he had a parole violation for organized criminal activity. The officers arrived at the location and found Nichols in a small room inside the business with a gun on the table. While officers were giving Nichols verbal commands, he reached for a gun. At that time, officers discharged their weapons, striking Nichols several times. Nichols was transported an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

  1. Must of been a head shot because the bluring occurred after the shooting. He would've killed the officers, clear case of him or me. He chose his fate

  2. Imagine having a policeman aiming a pistol right at you and thinking " It'd be a good idea to reach for a gun, yeah … I'll have time!"

  3. Last thing he sees and feels is cuffs ….. 👋 👋 bye … and they kept working

  4. BLM said defund the police when officers don’t get paid enough. All the while they bought mansions to live in.

  5. Reaching for a gun in hope not to go to jail but getting shot at the same time and still ending up in jail,
Yes that makes perfect sense to me.

  6. luckily these officers decided to search for the criminal quietly rather than announce their presence, dude was literally armed with multiple guns including a silenced submachine gun! Good thing these officers caught him off guard.

  7. Why do criminals so frequently have uzis? They're not good guns. The only reason I can think of is concealability and bullet spray, but that's at the cost of losing accuracy.

  8. I originally thought he was a disgruntled employee who showed up to work to do something nefarious. I wonder why he was trespassing there.

  9. I can see them getting in trouble for not declaring they are police officers.
If you're asleep and some random guy point at you with his gun yelling 'put your hands up', it can be legitimate to try to defend yourself.

  10. What was his crime? I know I usually fight violence with violence. Especially when unannounced guns are pointed at me. Regardless if I like it or not. Forgive my misplaced empathy and thoughts of liberty. They become potent with age.1997-2006 US Marine infantryman Sgt.100P.T. medically retired. Indelibly privileged. Thank-you countrymen for such mission. Semper Fi, 5fox ou…t…um,Joshua

  11. Perfect example of a video “if he was black” there would be riots because you don’t see the 911 call and the reasoning behind why they came with guns drawn. It’s all perspective and that’s very important. NOT where the video starts, you need the whole picture and why this is justified
