  1. I randomly stumbled across your video but I've thought a lot about how to solve this problem from a technology perspective. You solve both sideshows and organized retail theft by putting networks of ALPR cameras all over metro areas, the cameras scanning plates of every driver on the road. You can then identify most or all vehicles in a convoy because those plates will repeatedly be picked up by other cameras within a small window. You could say "these 15 plates were seen on the freeway in a 5 second period and now the same 15 plates were seen crossing a residential intersection". This would let you detect vehicle convoys in real time. It wouldn't matter if they had fake plates, stolen plates etc. You could send officers to the area to be ready for whatever they do. The problem of course is that privacy groups will fight such camera networks.

  2. It's not a lack of leadership to hold ur officers accountable. If police think there are no consequences for not doing their job correctly or violating someone's rights then they will continue to do so. Just like we hold criminals accountable we should hold police accountable. Fair is fair. What a joke. This is why the public hates police. They feel they should be held to a lower standard and it shows when they prioritize officer safety over public safety like they did in Uvalde. Proof cops don't care about us. Am I wrong? Did Uvalde not happen. This is why u guys have lost the public.

  3. this approach does not work. its done nightly here in southern cali and we even have task forces to target them. the take overs move from location to location and theres too many people at each gathering. easier said than done. these things are dangerous and annoying af!

  4. The whole situation just sucks all around. As a regular car enthusiast who doesn't partake in takeovers, I like to get a little sideways here and there and always have. Never hurt anyone. Never have had problems or issues with cops. I live in Miami. Now, I hear about calm and collect parking lot meets getting raided and people getting their cars towed for just being there. It's sad. I guess that's what happens when a small group of idiots ruin it for everyone else
