Police dash cam video captures an EF-1 tornado touching down near Zionsville last Thursday. Footage from the dash cam of Zionsville Police Department Officer Nick Baldwin shows the twister in the distance as rain pelts his windshield.

“[The tornado] appears to be close to [County Road] 300 South and [County Road] 800 East,” Baldwin says into his radio.“

Wow!” he adds a few moments later.

The National Weather Service said the tornado carried winds of 100 mph. A barn was heavily damage, but no one was injured in the storms, Zionsville police said. This is the third tornado to hit central Indiana in under a week. Last Tuesday, the National Weather Service said a tornado made ground contact in Greene County. An EF-1 twister touched down in Montgomery County on Sunday.

  1. "A barn was heavily damage, but no one was injured in the storms, Zionsville police said."

Some Amish folk from Mishawka had it rebuilt just minutes later.

  2. My mom works for Zionsville Schools. She was just down the street from this. They did a great job holding back the busses and making sure all of the kids were in their emergency positions. The news, WTHR for me, did an amazing job predicting the tornado a good ten minutes before it ever touched ground. I was prepared for the storm at least half an hour before it passed over my house.

  3. I was in teds near zionsville eating a burger when they told us a there was a tornado warning and we might have to hide in the freezer. I was like fuck that if I die i'll die with my belly full.
