Jacksonville, Florida — On Thursday, May 11, 2023, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for service at 929 South McDuff Avenue. While on scene, a Family Dollar employee flagged him down in the parking lot and informed him that a man, later identified as Daniel Forrest, had just stolen from the business and was running across the area. The officer drove and caught up with Forrest on some railroad tracks. “Hey come here. Brother I’m going to (expletive) tase you, man,” the officer said.

The officer used a Taser and Forrest fell and hit his head on the pavement. After the officer put handcuffs on Forrest, he called for an ambulance. “Just send rescue,” the officer can be heard saying. In accordance with policy, the officer asked the Jacksonville Fire & Rescue Department to assist in evaluating Forrest after the CEW had been used. Forrest was taken by JFRD to a nearby hospital, where it was discovered that he suffered internal bleeding. He’s still in the hospital. Forrest’s family shared photos of him in the hospital. His family said doctors told them he might not make it. According to JSO, the officer’s use of force was within policy.

  1. Когда до обезьян дойдёт, что убегать от полиции – это самая плохая идея? 🤔

  2. Can you imagine if stores had tasers at the exits when an inventory tag has not been removed, like the spears that shoot out of the walls in Indiana Jones.

  3. How can you taze a high iq individual high intellectual ability individual citizen from this neighborhood??? How dare you taze a college graduate straight-A student hard-working man!!!!
Don't you know this is a railroad engineer hard-working man who you just happened to scare ?😂😂😂😅😂😂😂😂

  4. I love how the cop can’t control his anger and violence giving his bullshit orders to a guy clearly knocked out and trying to come back to consciousness. Where was the stolen merchandise? Held that taser button a good 5 seconds. I think a quick jolt and stop when you see the person going down is more than enough and might allow a person to actually protect themselves in the fall. Once down jolt him again if needed. Seen too many head injuries causing serious traumatic brain damage and even death by this lack of training with so called non lethal

  5. He shouldn’t of ran, it was justified by policy.
However, taser guidelines recommend against taser deployment on running subjects so a lawsuit could still ensue.

  6. I grew up in that area, actually lived on college street, and it used to be a decent place, but then all the welfare trash moved in and now its a hell hole
